2nd renewal 9 months before expiration.
Applied Aug 30th, Approved Sep 1st, No interview.

2nd renewal. Approved after 1 day. No interview. Yay.

1st renewal was conditionally approved and required interview.

I applied for my Nexus renewal, and new applications for my wife and 3 minor kids back in August.
I already received my renewal card, and wife and 2 kids have been conditionally approved over a month ago.
The third kid is still pending approval.
Is there any way to nudge his application forward?

Short answer: No
Long answer: No, not until after ~2 years have passed since the date of application.

Interview likely required if changed address?

I recently moved out of state from Washington but would like to keep my Nexus as I still visit family often in Canada. My nexus is up for renewal, but I'm wondering the likelihood of an in person interview requirement. As you can imagine because of the limited interview slots, it may be difficult to line up an interview with an already planned trip to Canada/Washington. Any experiences of interview requirements if you changed addresses?

I initially enrolled in 2012 at the Detroit office while living in Massachusetts. My two renewals both happened after moving to Washington; neither needed an in-person interview. My parents moved from WA to VA after they both got NEXUS - for their most recent renewals, one did need an interview (scheduled one in Blaine and came back for a visit) and the other didn't. I don't think the moves had any effect on whether or not an interview was required.

There is no rhyme or reason for whether or not a particular change in your profile triggers an interview. There are people with the same job and address for 20 years who have only visited Canada and Western Europe requiring interviews after their applications get stuck in review for months, but there are also digital nomads whose applications are approved in days despite the fact that in the last 5 years they have spent months at a time couch surfing around dozens of less traveled countries.

My expiration date was approaching in mid-November 2024, and I procrastinated on renewing until just a few days ago. Thankfully, my renewal was approved, and I'm now set until 2029! It’s a positive data point, but I hope it's marginally helpful. I hope everyone currently navigating renewal delays gets theirs sorted soon!

Do you think the waiting times/delay for application approval will increase with the new administration and the possible dismantling of DHS? My friend needs to renew, and I keep telling her it’s probably best to just get it done.

It’s always best to apply for renewal as soon as eligible.

Oh ok. Sorry, didn’t know about that forum. Thanks for the answer!

1st renewal, I got renewed without an interview. This time, 2nd renewal, just got the email this morning for conditional approval. I logged in to schedule an interview and it seems there are no interview slots at IAH even though it only says appointments are full until Nov. 15, 2024. (I looked out past that and it shows nothing) Do they schedule on a week by week basis? Or am I missing something?

My 3rd renewal started this week, received status change e-mail in just over 24 hours after submission. Approved for another 5 years with no interview required. I've only needed an interview for my 2nd renewal (and the original application of course). Inadvertently forgetting to report 1 country I'd visited on the application, and only realized this after submission, thankfully had no impact on the application approval.

Non-US citizen or resident.

Did my renewal in 2022. Conditionally approved, did an arrival interview at MSP, together with my girlfriend, for her it was the initial approval, not a renewal.
Everything was fine.
Been to the US several times this year alone, using GE every time except once when I was traveling with a friend who didn't have it.
Suddenly in October I receive an email that my GE status has changed - I go to the website and see it has expired.
Called them and, sure enough, they confirmed my suspicoin that back in 2022, the agent didn't process my renewal correctly, I guess he got distracted by my girlfriend (:p) and then forgot to process me.

Since it was expired, all I could do was send in a new application.
New application sent in on Nov 2, today (Nov 25) I got the approval. So 23 days.

The status now says "Approved" in the system - does that mean I don't have to do a new interview at all?
The agent I spoke to on the phone said I would have to do a new interview, but that I could do that online, I wouldn't even have to do it on arrival (very useful, as I will be having a short connection the next time I'm going to the US).

In my experience, that means you're all set with no interview required and should already show a new expiration date. The status would have shown you a conditional approval if an interview were required.
