Re-applied for my Global Entry 7/12/22 late in the evening.
Full approval received 7/14/22 at 6pm. ~36 hours from allocation to approval. Some datapoints: Top secret clearance (who knows if it matters?), United 1K, Denver area, only a few trips to Canada in the last 5 years. Second renewal. |

I think you're reading things into this that aren't there. If you sit back and look at all the reports here it really seems to be random whether you're approved right away or have to wait many months. Observations of my own family's applications l:rolleyes::rolleyes:k the same -- with no discernible pattern.

36 Hours for Renewal Application Approval
Just submitted my renewal GE application on Wednesday afternoon (7/20) and woke up to a E-Mail this morning around 6am noting that there was an application status change and I logged in and my application was completely approved with no follow up Interview needed. No employment change since my last application but I did change addresses so it seems like home address changes do not affect if you will need an renewal interview or not.

Would appreciate advice on how to get a new GE card? I tried on most recent arrival from overseas but no luck. Any guidance would be most appreciated

Applied for renewal in late March and renewal was accepted yesterday with no new interview needed so was almost four months. Someone in my office building applied a couple days after me and is was conditionally accepted just a couple days later but required an interview. No clue as to why some get approved right away and others takes months.

Datapoint: GE initial registration 10 yrs ago requiring 5 minute interview (mostly watching a video) which I did as a walk-in at EWR after landing on an overnight international flight. Renewed 5 years ago, no interview required. Expires in 7 months.
Renewed on-line 6 weeks ago, interview required, appointments at JFK and EWR fully booked for several months. Walked-in to EWR office prior to a domestic flight 3-4 weeks ago, told (without an appointment) to pound sand. Posted here about Enrollment on Arrival experience at JFK 1-2 days ago. |

Re-applied for my wife's GE the afternoon of July 22 (exactly one year before expiration) and approved with no interview necessary on the morning of July 24, good until July 22, 2028.

I searched through this thread and can't find the answer to a question I have on the renewal card.
Renewal was approved last week extending it through 2028. Thinking of meeting a friend in Canada Saturday. If I don't have my new card by then will my card with the 2023 expiration still be valid to use the Nexus lane coming back? Wasn't sure if ithe card was still valid for land crossings until I received my new card or if it was void as soon as the renewal was approved. TIA |

Your prior Nexus card (expiration 2023) remains valid until you acknowledge receipt of your new Nexus card (expiration 2028) via the TTP website. Once you acknowledge receipt of the new card, the new card becomes valid and the old card becomes invalid and can no longer be used. Until you acknowledge receipt of the new card, the new card cannot be used.

That's what I figured. And I assume this applies to GE as well?? I don't have Nexus, only Global Entry to cross on the US side.

Phew!
i panicked over the weekend because I had completely forgotten to renew my Nexus earlier this year. GOES showed me dreaded red message with EXPIRED on it. I was all dreading because I read that it can take anywhere from 3 months to 6 months with no grace period for people who let it expire, 7/31 Submitted renewal application & elected to convert to Global Entry 8/1 Shown as Approved for Global Entry & APEC Business Travel Card showing as active again. |
