If you applied for renewal before your previous period had expired, TSA automatically extends/applies a grace period beyond your original expiration. If you let it expire before renewal, there is no grace period and you've lost GE privileges.

Thank you for clarifying my thoughts

Can I know, what was the status shown after you submitted the GE renewal back in February 2022? Was it pending approval or pending conditional approval?

I submitted my renewal application on 4/26/2022, hoping when I hit the six month mark in two weeks that approval will be soon.

Submitted my renewal late evening October 10th. It was approved by around 4am Eastern Time the following morning (i.e. this morning, the 11th). Apparently no interview required.

Ms. 747FC applied for renewal two days ago, and this morning, up popped her approval notice! Very impressive turnaround time, especially because some of the countries she has visited. :)

Should she be expecting a new card to be automatically sent with the new expiration date? She has a little over a year left before her previous expiration date arrives.

Many thanks!

Data point: Card received exactly 2 weeks after approval.

I provisionally renewed before status expired but an interview was required. Completed that interview at EWR on way back from MUC last week and found out why interview was required: I was stopped on return about 5-6 years ago when FIDO sniffed an apple in my bag. Got the dreaded "X" next two times and was searched/questioned. Interviewing agent brought that up and said, if I transgressed again, GE would be revoked permanently and I would be searched each time I re-entered USA. Firm but nice. On me

My fathers GE expired because of a BDAY issue and couldn't migrate over. Finally got into his account on the 12th and clicked Renew his application was conditional accepted today less then 48 hours on the 14th with a remote appointment set for the 17th

My mom's GE renewal was Conditionally Approved in July of this year and we made an appointment for her interview for later this month. Last week, she got an email that her request was now approved and it's reflected as such on the dashboard with an expiration date of five years from her next birthday. I just wanted to double-check with the members here that she should be good and can either cancel or no-show for her scheduled interview. Knowing how hard it is to get an interview, I want to make sure she doesn't do anything wrong to mess up her renewal.

Thanks!

Thanks!

She's good. There are numerous reports in the NEXUS renewal thread of applicants who had been conditionally approved months ago all of a sudden receiving notifications of final approvals without having enrollment interviews.

My guess is that her upcoming appointment will be automatically cancelled.

If she's good to go, please do have her cancel vs no show -- maybe that freed up appointment slot can help someone else!

7.5 months and still nothing. Can't escalate until 8 months.

A few days ago, I applied for my second renewal as soon as I was eligible to do so, and I was unconditionally approved in less than two days without any interview. I wasn't reinterviewed last time either. I hadn't visited any countries outside one or two in Western Europe. My picture is now ten years old, obviously, but I guess that didn't matter.

My GE expired Oct 2021. I applied for renewal March 2, 2022. Just got approved today Oct. 24,2022. No interview needed.

Almost 8 month wait.

Thanks for the DP, didn’t know it’s taking up to eight months now for approvals

One thing of interest for me is that my notification message was addressed from the Pittsburgh office. I currently live in Alabama. Im orginally from the pit area and did my interview at the pit office during my initial enrollment. I dont expect that to be why it took so long but maybe.
