Phew!
i panicked over the weekend because I had completely forgotten to renew my Nexus earlier this year. GOES showed me dreaded red message with EXPIRED on it. I was all dreading because I read that it can take anywhere from 3 months to 6 months with no grace period for people who let it expire, 7/31 Submitted renewal application & elected to convert to Global Entry 8/1 Shown as Approved for Global Entry & APEC Business Travel Card showing as active again. Lucky! I also accidently let my GOES expire without renewing, its been almost 2 weeks and its still pending. |

Your prior Nexus card (expiration 2023) remains valid until you acknowledge receipt of your new Nexus card (expiration 2028) via the TTP website. Once you acknowledge receipt of the new card, the new card becomes valid and the old card becomes invalid and can no longer be used. Until you acknowledge receipt of the new card, the new card cannot be used.
Just adding that an EXPIRED card works when renewal is fully approved but new card has not been received. |
Just got my conditional approval. 118 Days from April 25 until August 21.
By chance, I happen to be in Montreal and flying back home tomorrow, so hopefully I can get an interview on arrival, and have this whole process completed tomorrow. If not, getting an appointment right now looks extremely difficult, with the soonest appointment available at my closest airport at home on November 23. |

curious, have you had any international travel since the expiration?
My best guess for the delay is because of extensive international travel while still active with destinations including China, Hong Kong, India, Brazil, and s hand full of European countries. |

no, but this coming friday i leave for three weeks in india and Switzerland. During that trip I'll hit the 6 month period so I'm hoping it goes thru before I get back.

Thanks for the update. Hopefully it’ll come through soon for you. I had extensive international travel as well. Is there anything meaningful about the six months I didn’t quite understand that.
I emailed again a week ago with no response yet. I might try to call this week if I get time. |

in July i emailed them about it and received a canned response saying current processing is 4 to 6 months.

I applied for renewal yesterday and got a Conditional Approval today. Following the "Schedule Interview" button, I have three options in the CONUS, the nearest over 1,000 miles away. Do they really expect me to travel to Miami to renew?
