Submitted 2nd GE renewal on June 28, 2024.
Approved on July 4th, 2024. Status is "Approved"— no mention about interview.

I am pleasantly surprised about the speed and the approval on a major holiday.

Well I was renewed. I'm not sure WHEN (You can see my last update/post on this thread) but I never got an email or anything.

I decided to login and check today and it showed approved. No Interview, just wait for the card to come in the mail.
There's nothing showing under Notifications, except for the original 2019 approval, etc.

I'm fairly certain I checked sometime in end of May or beginning of June (we went to Mexico) and it was still pending.

Just glad I didn't have to do an interview.

Similar thing for me. My wife was approved in a day or two in April, but got an email notifying her to check the website. I hadn't heard anything so I expected a long wait in purgatory but then out of the blue my renewed card showed up the mail (and when I went online to "activate" it I noticed the only notification on my account is from 5 years ago).

Another data point. 2nd GE renewal, application submitted 11 months before current GE expiry, approved in 24 hours without need for interview. Nothing particularly interesting in my travel history, which probably accounts for the rapid turnaround.

Maybe this one is a new record.

I filled out Mom's NEXUS renewal around the end of April 2020. (i.e. Early days of Covid when absolutely everything was shut down.) Unsurprisingly, nothing happened for a while. Then nothing happened for longer. Then I inquired at a NEXUS office when I was at an airport but I was told (with sympathy) that since it's Mom and she's obviously not a minor, I needed to have her physically present to get the answer. So we waited some more.

And on Tuesday (July 9, 2024) we got the email that Mom was approved and that the new card is on the way, presumably via mail.

P.S. The CBP website says (for NEXUS, bolding added):

CBP Trusted Traveler Programs application processing consists of two steps, application vetting and applicant in-person interview.
The application vetting process normally occurs within two weeks after the submission of the application.
If additional review of the application is needed after vetting, a manual review of the application is needed and processing time for completion of the manual review is currently between 12-24 months, depending on the program. At that point the applicant receives either conditional approval or a denial.

Same here. I figured 11 months was safe to apply for renewal, and it gets approved in a day or two. Go figure.

Add me to the list of renewal long haulers- application submitted Oct 2023; still waiting patiently. 24 month grace period won't be be up until end of 2025, so I have time, but still very odd. Two previous renewals didn't even require an interview.

Here are our stats for renewal: Renewals submitted for my husband and I on Sunday, 8/13/23. My GE was set to expire in November 2023 and his in January 2024. I received notification of approval the next morning. I had been to 18 countries in the last 5 years, he had been to one additional country (Guatemala). This month, the spouse received a generic email saying that he could save time with interview on arrival, so we checked the status of his renewal online and it said he was conditionally approved. The quickest interview method was via Zoom, which was today and lasted two minutes. They asked him his name and address had him show his passport to the camera. Approval email was sent immediately after.

Are we supposed to get new cards? I did not receive one, but my husband was told today that his would be sent.

Yes, you're supposed to get a new card but it appears your renewal was approved during a period that due to a system issue, new cards weren't being sent. See the next to last paragraph of https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/35838935-post1846.html for more information. While that dealt with NEXUS cards, it's largely the same system so I guess it affected GE cards as well (I had to call to get my renewal NEXUS card but once I did, it went quickly).

Has anyone applied for renewal as soon as they are eligible, my GE expires on 07/31/2025 and I can submit for renewal on 07/31/2024, what would be the new expiry date?

I have done this twice in the past 3 months, once for me and once for my child. The expiry date remains the same.

In fact, I'm currently holding two seemingly valid GE cards, one that expires in 9 months, one that expires in 5 years and 9 months.

The new expiration date on a renewal, as long as the renewal application is submitted before the expiration date, is always five years from the previous expiration date.

Got a bit of a shock on my recent entry - turned out my GE had expired 😲 I never received an email about this and had totally forgotten that it was due! I therefore had to join a many-hours long queue at ORD instead! Thankfully eventually managed to get enough reception to download the mobile CBP app and got through a bit quicker via that route.

However I wanted to get GE back immediately so kicked off my renewal whilst still in the queue. I was impressed to find I got my UK Home Office clearance code within 24h and put it straight into my renewal application - that was then approved within 48h! Very impressed overall with how rapidly it was sorted and means I should at least still get TSA Pre on my flight back. Was also interesting to see the approval notice still gets issued by my original interview location for GE.

I was kicking myself for not remembering it would expire although on the upside at least I've got almost 6 years now until it's next due renewal due to the way they expiry works!
