Interesting that they asked about Turkey, sounds like they are flagging Turkey visits. That might explain why our approval (we have Turkey visit in 2021) did not come through right away.

Travel to Turkey has been flagged for a while.

Please refer to the following thread:

Same. Earlier this week got my Global Entry renewal approved with no interview necessary, about 41 hours from application to approval. I'm sure the fact that I haven't traveled outside the U.S. since I got GE 4 years ago helped a little... (At the time 2020 and 2021 were supposed to be big international trips for us...)

Last year my bf finally bit the bullet and applied. His initial GE application took about 5 months to get approved.

Just applied for renewal - my GE expires January 15, 2024 so figured I'd do it now and get it over with. I did have to re-enter my latest driver's license info and update some former employer addresses as two of them changed since last time (guessing they moved during the pandemic, and one of them is even a PO Box now - guess they went 100% virtual). Also had to update my job title (still same company)... hopefully none of this will raise red flags at all!

Also traveled to Chile and Australia since I got GE and indicated that too.

I really hope I don't have to wait too long for my renewal - I know they're extending expiration date due to how behind they are on processing, but I still want to be approved quickly as I have work/pleasure travel in Asia coming up later in the year. Crossing my fingers!

A data point in case this is useful for anybody:

Applied for renewal on 02/23/2023, approved this morning 02/25/2023 without an interview

This was just after visiting my local GE office to update my citizenship as I've recently become a US citizen - luckily this didn't cause a long wait for renewal.

My husband applied for renewal on 1/29/23. Still no movement.

He must have a flag on his record or something. For our last 6 domestic flights this year, he was consistent with not getting PreCheck. Prior to that, he would always get it.

Did the airlines offer any explanation?

Just got approved early this morning - so quick! I'm impressed!

Does anyone happen to know if I will get a new card to reflect the new expiration date, or do I keep using the one I already have?

gungadin Feb 26, 2023 10:41 am

I got a new card, same picture , same number, different expiration. Took about a week and a half from approval with no interview.

zitsky Feb 26, 2023 11:16 am

Am I right that the card is only for North America?

I was not able to add / update these countries.

Mexico (?!)
Grand Cayman
Falklands (maybe UK?)

Doesn't the question ask "Have you traveled to countries other than the United States, Canada, and Mexico since [5 years ago]?"

The only tine I have seen pre check not come in is if either the airline does not participate or there is a mismatch of information between ticket and GE information. Like a missing middle initial

EDIT: Renewal submitted on 2/25. Approved on 2/26. No interview required. I love this program!

Oh come on. I can’t be expected to actually read the instructions!

Do you think I’ll get in trouble for skipping the Falklands aka UK?

TonyBurr Feb 26, 2023 6:39 pm

I applied July, 2022 - Still waiting!

I was going to say no--looks like you already got the official answer! Congrats!
