Finally!
Finally! I applied for renewal in June 2022 approximately 2 months before my current expiration of GE. I received the email this week confirming that I was approved and no further action on my part is necessary. Hopefully I’ll have the card soon, I know it’s in my home but I don’t remember where it is. I guess I want to have it just in case.. I’ll never know if I’m going to take the Mexican border somewhere…
Thanks to everyone in the thread providing updates along the way. In the beginning I was going into login.gov almost weekly then I calmed down and I haven’t been there for months. I can’t believe it took 10 months to process. |

Did you get a new GE card in the mail? If so, how long did it take? My renewal was approved last Friday (April 1, 2023), and I no longer have possession of my expired card (CBP officer took it). I frequent Mexico by land, so having a GE card is basically a necessity since average wait time in the regular lanes is 2 hours and 40 minutes. Anyway, I didn't get any notification about a new card being sent in the mail. I was tempted to apply for a replacement card, but I thought I'd check what everyone experienced with their renewal process first.
- Received Status Change email on 03/11/23, logged in to see Approved Status. No comment about a new card being mailed. - 03/21/23 received new card USPS |

Renewed 4/5/23 (pretty early in the morning)
Approved 4/6/23, no interview needed |
Seems like all renewals, not seeing any data points on new applications? Wife and I just applied for the first time today, have KTNs/Pre-Check. So we shouldn't expect to be approved for return flights from Costa Rica on 4/22 and Calgary on 7/22? :)

Lost TSA Precheck during renewal
Hi all,
I applied for renewal on 9/2022 but am still waiting for approval. Technically I had Nexus and renewed as global entry. It expired last week and I flew domestic this week and found out that I lost tsa pre check on my boarding pass. Couple of questions: 1) I thought benefits were extended for a year after expiration? Does that apply to tsa pre check? 2) anyway to get pre check for some upcoming flights? Or do I have to apply for pre check. thanks! |

Yes, it just says “Pending Review”. > If you have a lot of flights in the near future, you should apply for Pre-Check, which is what I did while I am continuing to wait for GE approval. Good luck. If I may ask, why did you apply for Pre-Check? Did you lose TSA Pre Check even if you did a straight GE renewal? |

I didn't realize my GE was expiring. I left the US for Africa right before my birthday (had TSA Pre Check) and when I returned I tried to enter through GE and the kiosk told me see the CBP officer. He saw that it was no longer valid and we realized it had expired. Because I submitted my renewal request AFTER expiration I did not get the automatic extension. When I did not receive approval in a few days (unlike many here) I knew it was going to take a long time. See some of the other posts, particularly the one from Chris Miller which says: For those application that require additional review, estimates for initial processing times for new and renewal TTP applications are as follows: · Global Entry applications at approximately 272 days (approximately 9 months) · SENTRI applications are at approximately 522 days (approximately 17 ½ months) · NEXUS applications are at approximately 584 days (approximately 19 ½ months) I then applied for TSA Pre and even that took almost 60 days. I have very common first and last names and have traveled internationally quite a bit, which can lead to an “additional review.” My TSA Pre is working fine now. Have been waiting since October for GE. |

I did our renewals last June, expiry was this June and it happened in about 72 hours overall. That was great, those were good times. I had forgotten how cumbersome and clunky the renewal website was and still is. I just did a “renewal” for a PIL, even though it allows to click through to “renew”, once on the first of MANY pages to click through the top of the page in big bold letters says “application”. I know it’s technically, probably an APPLICATION for RENEWAL but still. Later, on SEVERAL pages of unnecessary click throughs it seems to switch to saying “XYZ RENEWAL” at the top.
It really shouldn’t present what it indicates as “ERRORS ON PAGE” when what it seems to be really wanting is that you once again CONFIRM all the information that is ALREADY HAS since this is a RENEWAL. I get it, having two paths - one for application and one for renewal is harder to engineer. Ok. I’ve been doing this a long time too. So here is my ask. Once we finished up, submitted, paid, etc. Of course the page a day later now says PENDING REVIEW, “application for Global Entry”. Again, could just be BAD description and narrative. But, then to the right are the steps upcoming SUBMITTED APPLICATION, PAID, WAITING FOR CONDITIONAL APPROVAL but then there is another stanchion that says “INTERVIEW” “Attend in person, remote, etc.”. I don’t really recall this section when I was waiting last year for my RENEWAL during the PENDING REVIEW phase. Is this just standard boiler plate that is on the page, or does it somehow mean that an interview is now going to be required? Part of me thinks this was there before, last year when I did mine and I had the same concern, but then a few days later the approval happened and literally 48 hours later the card was in my mailbox - frankly it was staggering. Does anyone else who is doing a RENEWAL have that INTERVIEW section on their pending review page and I guess for anyone who has done this process more recently did it say those things and did it just RENEW with no need for any further interaction? |
