VS award ticket codes

Hello-

I have searched on this forum but I did not find the award tickets reservation codes for Virgin Atlantic (VS). Does anyone know them? Also, which method is better to search for these codes (Sabre/Apollo/Amadeus etc?)

Many thanks for your answer,

Have a good day,

Mike.

Grrrr... Totally unrelated to my 'real' question, but can there please be a setting that allows KVS to spawn its own browser windows with IE? It always ends up taking something useful, this time my longwinded question!

I guess on the plus side, now I'll ask more succinctly :).

How do I get fares using AUA as the Access webpage says is accessible to Gold members? I just pulled up a random LHR-YYZ on Oct. 10, but can't see anywhere to get fare codes, prices or rules, or even put in my point of purchase.

Yup. Much shorter now :)

VS award booking classes are G/U/T, but they do hide them, so you cannot search for them using any of the methods.

Not at the moment, but I will look into it. In the meantime, just open a blank browser window (File -> New -> Window in MSIE) before using any browser-based functionality of the Tool.

AUA Fares can be useful for booking fares on *A carriers.

To get detailed fare listings and rules, you need to use the Sabre: Fares/DotRes method instead.

Great tool. Just one quick question. The prices quoted on Sabre Fares/Dotres - are they inclusive of all known taxes, or am to find these taxes somewhere?

Fares do not include any taxes, as they will depend on the exact routing, etc.
You can use this website to estimate taxes & surcharges: http://www.ConsolidatedTravel.com.au/qf/taxes.asp

Sorry to be thick, but it's late at night and I just don't understand what you mean...

I agree (and mentioned) that AUA Fares would be useful. It is also listed as a Gold benefit. DotRes is a Platinum benefit. So as a Gold client, how do I access the useful AUA Fares?

Sorry for my ignorance,

Dr. PITUK

I am afraid you cannot use the AUA fares features to do what you're trying to do.

Until just recently, you could have used the Sabre TCY Fares (available at the Gold level) to get fare listings, but due to the recent developments (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showp...&postcount=915), it will now only bring-up fares within Canada and the US.

The functionality you require is only available at the Platinum level.

Hope this helps...

Searching for *A availability on SQ

Is it possible to search for availability of *A award seat in business class on Singapore Airlines?

I tried searching, but could not find an answer. Can I search for AA Award classes with KVS? Which level do I need to have to access this functionality?

thanks.

Neither SQ, nor AA are currently in the list of the airlines, for which award booking classes are shown -- pls see the [Classes Displayed By Airline] section for more info: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showt...74#post2804874

Fares with Sabre/DotRes - only partial results

Hi,

Fares are shown only for airlines with direct flights (although airline=YY);

[KVS Availability Tool 2.2.4/Platinum - Sabre: Fares/DotRes/ES-EUR]
Code:

BRU  Brussels Metro / Brussels Ntl BE = BRU CRL [EBBR]

That's just the way Sabre-DotRes engine is retunring fares.

I am working on the next version of the Tool, which will have a new fares engine, which should show more fares when Airline=YY, e.g.:

Well, in this case: [A*] indicates available (non-assigned) seats, [X] indicates already assigned seats, and [L] indicates non-desirable ("low comfort") seats. UD=Upper Deck. See also the FAQ at the beginning of this thread.

For this flight, you can also see the graphical seat map using Galileo.
