It means they are only selling 1 more J seat, but the tickets that have already been sold haven't been assigned seats.......

Also, Air Canada sometimes "moves inventory" from J to Y, allowing them to sell more Hospitality tickets, when they think that might be better from a revenue standpoint. They will then on move people from Y to J via upgrades, or op-ups.

...which might explain the occurence of KVS showing J3 and me upgrading a flight pass the day before a trip to discover that AC seatmap shows lots of seats open... more than J3

If this is the case and J=0 1 day before the flight, would one be able to upgrade with a pass or would the system not allow it because technically there is no space available in J?

It is working this morning. Never mind.

Sabre ITN has not been working for me since upgrading to v2.3  -> "CRS Error: Processing Error"

sadiqhassan Sep 3, 2006 10:04 am

It isn't working for me either :(

infoworks Sep 3, 2006 2:23 pm

Same here this weekend. Amadeus has a datasource error too (related to Austrian Airlines it seems).

While I don't have any first-hand experience with the above-mentioned airlines, based on the user-reported information that I have seen so far, the answer would most likely be a 'yes'...

The back-end reservation systems will not generally assign seats, unless requested by someone (e.g. TA, or Res Agent), or something (e.g. the website booking engine)...

Access to Sabre ITN has now been restored in V2.3.1 (available for download as of today).

Access to Amadeus was actually restored as of V2.3.0 (which has been available for over a month now).

KVS Sep 3, 2006 3:23 pm

Version 2.3.1 Released

Alert
  • Due to major changes in the Amadeus-AUA & Sabre-ITN, all previous version of the Tool should no longer be used. Be sure to download the latest version (V2.3.1) ASAP to ensure uninterrupted access (this will resolve the "Datasource Error" issues).

What's New in Version 2.3.1:
  • Sabre: Fares/ZJI Method: This new method is a replacement for the Fares/TCY method and allows you to view fares for a specific cabin class (e.g. Economy/Business/First). All published (incl. international) fares for the next 12 months are shown.

  • Due to the recent changes to the Amadeus: AUA engine, the list of airlines supported by that method has, unfortunately, been reduced as follows: *A + AY BA EI MA QF AF KL AZ DL MX OK .

  • New Fares Booking Class Filter
    • You can now filter fares by booking class(es) (the first letter of the Fare Basis code). To do so, enter the required booking class(es) in the "Display only the following classes:" field.

Note: Some fares book into a class that is different than the first letter of the Fare Basis.

  • For a quick visual demo of the Tool's features, available at each level, goto [View Screenshots].

[Download Version 2.3.1 Now].
