Alert: Airline Selection Is Ignored When Using ITN-Based Methods

There currently appears to be a problem with the ITN engine, as it returns flights on all carriers, regardless of the airline being requested. This affects all ITN-based methods of the KVS Tool (Apollo:ITN/CWT, Sabre:ITN/AXP, and Worldspan:ITN/CWT).

I am assuming that this is a temporary situation and the normal functionality will soon be restored. In the meantime, you can use the [LIMIT=100] setting, in conjunction with the "Filter by Airline Code(s)" feature to narrow-down the results.

Except for the AC/UA fares issue mentioned above, the fares module is working fine. Pls see KVS Tool FAQ Part 1 under "Unable to Retrieve Fares": http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showt...74#post2804874 for troubleshooting instructions.

Swiss / South African added to *A search

Hi KVS,

Do you know when Swiss / South African Airlines will be added to the airlines that are searched when you select *A Airline in the Amadeus : AUA method?

Thanks

Well, I know that last time it took AUA almost half a year to finally recognize US as a *A airline ...

hey KVS, whenever I am searching for DL flights the tool returns UA and AA flights  . This is independent on the database I am selecting. Any idea?

Great news! I have found a solution for the "airline selection" issue, so that issue will be fully resolved in the upcoming version (V2.1.0), which is due to be released by the end of next week...

Reminder: Registration Procedure

Due to an increasing number of FT-ers who PM me for a Registration Code without specifying their System Code, I just wanted to remind anyone who is requesting a new or a replacement Registration Code for the KVS Availability Tool that you must include your System Code (S-XXXXXXXX) that is shown by the Tool in your PMs.

Version 2.1 Released

What's New in Version 2.1:
  • Sabre: Fares/DotRes Method: This new Platinum-level method is extremely fast, and allows you to view fares for a specific cabin class (e.g. Economy/Business/First). It also features a Return Date: input field, so it will only display fares that are actually applicable to your specified travel dates.

The fare rules can be retrieved in the matter of seconds and will be displayed in an integrated window.

Also, unlike the existing Sabre: Fares/TCY method, fares for carriers such as AC and UA are reliably shown.

  • ITN Airline Selection Option that has been inoperable over the last couple of weeks has now been fully restored.

  • Custom Fare Basis Code Entry: If you know the exact Fare Basis code that you wish to view fare rules for, you can now enter it directly when using the Sabre: Fares/TCY method.

  • Filter Alert icon will now be displayed on the screen to remind you that the filtering options have been activated.

New Registration Policy Reminder:
  • There are now 3 registration levels/tiers: Lite, Gold, and Platinum. Please visit the [New Access Level Structure] page for details and eligibility criteria.

  • For a quick visual demo of the Tool's features, available at each level, goto [View Screenshots].

  • To verify your registration level and expiration date, click the large orange [Registration] button, and then click [Re-Register].

Sabre: Fares/TCY: UK-GBP

The UK-GBP POS of the Sabre: Fares/TCY method currently appears to return fares in USD instead. I will be looking for a replacement, but, in the meantime the fares can still be retrieved in the following currencies:

Using the Sabre: Fares/TCY method:
  • CAD
  • USD
Using the new Sabre: Fares/DotRes method:
  • CAD
  • EUR
  • USD

It's returning GBP perfectly for me at the moment, so maybe it was a temporary glitch?

If this part of the tool is just calling the Travelocity fare listings, which I suspect it is, whether you get USD or GBP can be a bit hit-and-miss. It seems to depend on when you last logged in to Travelocity and to what level. Sometimes it resets from USD to GBP only after making a dummy booking and cancelling at a very late stage, closing the browser window and then restarting. I've got quite used to having a currency converter window open at the same time when it's misbehaving for me.
