Hi,
I have a question concerning the Worldspan seat maps: When I try to access the seat map for Y class, the result only shows the first rows of Y. Is there any way to see the following rows ? By the way: great tool ^ |

I know that beggars can't be choosers, but I do have four more suggestions for you that would further enhance this already excellent program: (1) Let's say I'm trying to piece together an itinerary, maybe it's an award itinerary. So I trawl through loads of different city pairs and dates, trying to find that rare open award seat in business class. A-ha! I found something, but it's not ideal. Okay, fine, I'll keep searching, but I'll set that flight aside for the time being and keep looking. Knowing me, if I don't write it down or paste it somewhere, I'll forget it. Currently, if I want to do this, I have to copy the whole thing to the clipboard or WordPad/Excel, including all the flights that came up from that query. This takes additional time as I then need to clean up the pasted data just to leave the flight that I like, plus I have to use another programme when I'd just as soon use the KVS tool only. Solution: How about putting in a separate window, maybe a split window at the bottom of the search results pane, where you can just dump the results of that ONE flight that you like, and then keep on searching, adding other flight possibilities or manually building segments until you get an itinerary you like? E.g., you could just right-click the flight you like best and dump it to the "holding bin" while you keep searching. As you go, you could continue to add more and more flights to the holding bin, and they would be sorted in chronological order. (2) I find it a pain to have to right-click a particular flight to display its distance and duration; how about adding some columns to the right w/ this info? (3) I find the "my trips" tab to be really useful, I've got quite a few trips stored in there that I am periodically checking for upgrade space. However, the drop down menu seems to have them stored by when they were saved, not by departure date. Could this be changed so they're ordered by departure date? (4) Following on from (3), would it be possible to make it so that clicking the green arrow next to the selected saved itinerary not only populates the "Input" tab with the appropriate information but also selects the search method originally used (e.g., Apollo, Wspan, etc.)? Thanks! |

Reading your response, I thought of yet another way to do this... years ago there was an award availability finder that we FTers used to find awards and hidden classes. I can't remember the name of it. It had a similar layout to the KVS tool... data input at the top of the application window, results window at the bottom. But there were actually eight results windows, tabbed with numbers 1-8 (using tabs similar to your Input, Filter, MyTrips, MyPNRs tabs). So you would start on Tab 1 (for instance), do a query, and if you liked the results, click on Tab 2 and do more queries. When you found something else you liked, you'd move onto Tab 3, and so on. Then you could always click back to Tab 1 where the original results would still be displayed.

If it would append results to the WordPad window each time then this would be okay. Alternatively it could open a new NotePad window each time you hit CTRL-P.

In the meantime, at the Gold/Platinum level, you can run as many independent instances of the Tool, as you require. You can then right-click on the Windows taskbar and use the [Cascade Windows] option to automatically 'stack' them on the screen, like this: http://xs108.xs.to/xs108/06450/KVSTo...adeWindows.gif |
Had a host problem... now resolved itself.
