And who's problem is that exactly?

Be serious, you have been a memeber here for a few years so should have been able to research how usefull the tool would be to "you".
If it would be of no use then don't buy it, if it would be usefull then buy it and learn how it works.

Seems to me like you couldn't get it to work "out of the box" (like so many other pieces of s/w now) and were not prepared to spend any time to learn what "you" were doing wrong.

Hardly seems like KVS is the bad guy here.

Well, there's a couple different philosophies to business. There's the "tough ...., you bought it" way that they're going with - even though the documentation they've got on their own website didn't work.

Or there's the, "Hey, let me take care of you" way - which they're not doing.

I gave KVS a try on the recommendations here, the whole website is disorganized and I couldn't get it to work (again - their own listed method is broken), and I didn't want to waste hours with it.

They wouldn't refund the purchase.

And they're being rude jerks about it.

It's shortsighed, too. How much is continuing to be negative over $15 going to lose them in new membership fees? I'll never try them again, even if they clean up their site and get better documentation. And I advise everyone else try a different tool - the expert flyer people seem more in touch with their customers, so perhaps try them first?

Does the new interline agreement feature include interline checked bag agreements or is it just for interline ticketing.

Your concern would have certainly been justified, if that was the case.

However, everything was working correctly -- you were just [erroneously] trying to use a Method, which required a higher-tier membership (and which you did not even need to use anyway for the type of award search you were doing).

The solution (which entailed simply switching to a different Method) was e-mailed back to you within 10 minutes of your original inquiry and we remain open to providing any further assistance (with substantive issues, relating to the KVS Tool) that you may require.

However, can anyone understand why the following would work:

PER-NAN return

Out 10 Oct 11
IN 18 OCT 11

Business class

Using Sabre Fares/DotRes (and other methods) gives a fare basis D2F with QF.

If I right click on this fare basis in KVS, and choose "find flights using this fare [ITA], specific date 10-18 OCT, the matrix.ita site returns a flight, and the search is successful.

Yet, if I choose a month long search starting 10 OCT (1 week turnaround), the matrix.ita site returns that there are no flights. If I modify the search criteria at the Matrix site to cover 10-18 OCT it still returns no flights.

I seem to have to use specific dates only, otherwise, no dice. Sounds like a matrix site error to me, but perhaps a kind reader of this post can enlighten me?

The engine behind the flexible search on ITA Matrix 1 cannot handle premium cabins.

Indeed, it is. Unfortunately, the interface of new ITA Matrix 2 is not currently compatible with the KVS Tool.

Any way I can use KVS to search for a fare basis with the new interface at matrix/ita?

You can copy-and-paste the ITA Query text, generated by the KVS Tool, into the From/To fields on ITA Matrix 2:

The Award Availability option has now been added.

Please download an updated Beta (V6.2.9921.B2) and give it a try:

[KVS Availability Tool 6.2.9921.B2/Diamond - ITA: Awards/AC-StarAlliance]
Code:

LHR  London Heathrow UK [EGLL]
SAN  San Diego Metro / Lindbergh Fld Intl CA US = SAN CLD [KSAN]
FRI  01 Jul 2011 | 2 Seats

Carrier    Flight  From  Depart    To    Arrive    A/C  St  Availability
---------  ------  ----  --------  ----  --------  ---  --  -------------------------------
                                                            Awards Available:
                                                            CS: 28 Jun/29 Jun/06 Jul/24 Jun
                                                            YS: 24 Jun

That message has been changed, as per the earlier post.

Unfortunately, this would not be feasible, due to an equally tremendous increase in the number of queries and the amount of time those queries would take.

For example, NYC (JFK/LGA/EWR) to LON (LHR/LGW/STN/LTN/LCY/QQS/QQW/ZLS/ZEP) would require 27 (3*9) separate queries.

I would like to have access to the KVS tool, with the feature of Star Alliance (through the AC method) award availability on alternate dates. However, I would prefer to have access to this feature, when this feature has passed the beta phase. When might this feature be part of the regular phase KVS tool?

Is this what you are referring to:

[KVS Availability Tool 6.4.0/Diamond - ITA: Awards/AC-StarAlliance/CA]
Code:

YVR  Vancouver Metro / Intl BC CA = YVR CXH [CYVR]
SYD  Sydney Kingsford Smith NS AU [YSSY]
THU  22 Dec 2011 | 1 Seat

Carrier    Flight  From  Depart    To    Arrive    A/C  St  Availability
---------  ------  ----  --------  ----  --------  ---  --  -----------------
                                                            Awards Available:
                                                            CS: 24 Dec
                                                            YS: 23 Dec/25 Dec

That only comes up if I tick the "Calendar" check box

Wow. I can not believe any business would talk like that to a customer, in public no less. I don't know why you don't just take care of your customers instead of blaming them for using your product "wrong".

Since you don't have a free trial, you are going to get people who don't like the product and want a refund after trying it out, that's part of doing business. If you don't want to worry about giving refunds, then give everyone a free trial. You can't have it both ways, unless you feel this payment lock-in the only way you can get people to pay for your product, it shouldn't be a problem to accommodate people one way or another.

"I'm sorry you feel that way" is a rude blow off answer for someone you don't like, not for a customer.

You sure can -- when using the [Sabre: FS] Method, just select the [Via] option and enter LAX as the forced connection point:

For the past few weeks, I can only do 1 Skyteam search. After that I get the following message:

Datasource Error [RW]:
"Our reservation tool is currently unavailable. We are doing our best to restore the functionality as soon as possible"
It is getting very annoying to have to restart the program or launch another instance between every search. When will you be fixing this?

There is currently an issue with the FR and NL POSs (on AF/KL's end).

Please use the US or UK POS options in the KVS Tool, both of which continue to function normally.

While there are, technically, 3 types of Interline Agreements (Paper Ticketing/Baggage/E-Ticketing), in 99% of cases there will also be a Baggage Interline Agreement when there is an [E-]Ticketing Agreement in-place.
