Please excuse me if this post is misplaced or naive. I am a KVS newbie and Ihave searched around a bit on KVS and Delta but have not found this exact issue.

I have been trying KVS since DL's award system is dysfunctional. A big peeve I have with dl.com is that when I look for 2 seats, many times only 1 Low award is available, and the other seat is only available at the Medium level. You can't tell this from the dl.com site - when searching, it will offer you the lowest level (for both of the 2 passengers), but then when you try to book, it will give the ever-annoying "your flight just sold out" message because there's really only one low seat.

Now, using WSpan mode in KVS and looking for 2 seats, I get the very same issue, in that those same flights shown on dl.com show up in KVS as available in YS+ for 2 seats. So, am I correct that (like the dl.com search engine) KVS has no way of knowing whether more than one of the available seats on DL is a Standard award? Or am I (hopefully) doing something wrong? Thanks.

Welcome to the KVS Tool!

Have you tried using the [Awards/SkyTeam] Method (which also supports DL's Standard/"Low" Award Availability) instead?

Just wanted to say thanks for this tool. I have to admit that as a newbie to the tool, it was tough to learn at first. But once I got the hang of it, it worked very well and produced the results I was looking for. I snagged a nice award PHL-SIN and PER-PHL (total of seven segments) all in business class. I will definitely be using the tool in the future for finding award flights.

Minor Bug:

If you have set the Awards/Upgrades method to UA and then double click on an item in "My Trips" that uses Awards-Upgrades/CO, the tool will not switch the method and will remain on UA.

In fact, it looks like clicking a My Trips item that uses the CO method won't switch to that method no matter what method you previously used (SNT, AC, etc)

Status of resolveing GTC?
FS does not support some airlines (AA) and ETR is very difficult/time consuming.

6.5.1 question

I just upgraded to the 6.5.1 version and have run into a problem: When I search flight availability using Sabre/GTC method (since I know the FS is temporarily unavailable) I get the following error message:
KVS Availability Tool
The requested method is currently unavailable or may require a newer version of the KVS Tool. Please visit www.KVSTool.com to review the latest system status and upgrade announcements.

Have I missed something in the upgrade? Any suggestions?

Thanks!

We are still looking for a solution with regard to the GTC engine.

In the meantime, for regular Availability on AA flights, please use the Mobile Companion.

Actually, it's the other way around -- GTC is currently unavailable, so FS is the Method you need to use.

And welcome to [posting on] FT!

Thanks. I've enjoyed reading the forum but never posted. And 'duh' - I must have misread re: FS v. GTC. Just treated myself to another cup of coffee. Now, though, when I choose the FS option when checking availability, I'm getting this odd situation: once I enter the specifics under the Availability search and hit 'GO' the screen immediately switches to the "Settings" tab and the 'Programme" Flightstats - and I get an error message: "The requested Method requires FlightStats membership credentials" Do you think maybe I've got a bug in my system? Perhaps I should uninstall KVS and reinstall? Or do you tihnk it's something much more obvious, like the FS v. GTC thing? ;) I tried using the Galileo option on Availability search, and that worked fine - but of course with much less detailed availability results.

We think that you should read http://Help.KVSTool.com/#Methods ;)

Bingo. Again, I say, 'duh...' Time for more coffee! Thanks again. :)

I'm showing differences in availability between FS and ETR, and its been this way since last Thursday.
Do a search for availability, DTW->AMS for Sept 29 on DL. Notice that every flight is showing LUTE9 availability. Now do a search using ETR for the same thing and ask for L U T E classes. Now things are different and look more realistic. Which one is correct, and how do I know if FS is showing me complete crap for any other flights? Also if you call Delta and speak with them about availability it looks as if the ETR data is either wrong or massively out of date.

What is the proper way for me to interpret this?

They should be both correct, for their respective POSs -- please see http://Help.KVSTool.com/#Factors
