Meanwhile, Sabre/FS does work much more quickly from the get go in my experience.

Indeed, all queries after the 1st one are faster for a number of Methods, including [Sabre: GTC] and most Award/Upgrade Availability Methods.

You could be right but too long IMHO.

Those times are definitely way too excessive:

  • For [Sabre: FS], each query should take ~8 seconds (add ~3 seconds for the 1st query).
  • For [Sabre: GTC], each query should take ~20 seconds (add ~10 seconds for the 1st query)
  • For [Galileo: ETR], ~5 seconds for all queries (per requested booking class).
  • [Amadeus: Timetable] is the fastest Method, where results appear in 1-2 seconds.

Thats fine most of the time but sometimes I am on a mobile connection so it can take ages to just check one date.

Have you considered using the KVS Tool Mobile Companion, which has been specifically optimized for slow/mobile connections?

Mine is definitely taking longer. Tried it on various connections now. How about others?

Time Tests

First, I checked my connection speed at speedtest.net. I currently have download of 11.48 meg and upload of 1.09 meg.
  • For [Sabre: FS], no test as I don't have id.
  • For [Sabre: GTC], 25 seconds first test, 18 seconds second.
  • For [Galileo: ETR], 5 seconds.
  • [Amadeus: Timetable] 3 seconds each test.

Overall, in line with KVS' estimates.

Checking the Aegean Airlines website I can see flights during August 2011 through to September 5 however they're not showing up on KVS, Any thoughts as to why?

What's the route and which Method(s) are you using?

Whoops, forgot to mention I was looking at flights to & from Athens to Mikonos and Santorini.

OK, on KVS I can see the flights under "Timetable" but not under "Availability" (not to sure how to post the results into this posting). The message I get back is "Query Returned No Results" if I try using the date of August 30, 2011.

Looks like A3 hasn't [yet] published those flights to all of the GDSs ...

In the meantime, you can check availability for these A3 routes via the KVS Tool Mobile Companion.

For copy-and-paste options, just double-click the results:

All systems continue to function normally -- must have been a transient connection issue on your end...

stevenshev Nov 7, 2010 11:15 am

The ANA < 7 day issue has cropped up again. New version?

Everything looks fine -- are you sure you are using V5.8.0 and the correct POS setting?

Must've been a temporary glitch on their end, because it's fine now. Thanks!

YUL2YEG Nov 8, 2010 2:26 pm

When searching for *A awards I get the error

Data Source Error [SF]: "(Engine Error SF1-BSY)"
or
Data Source Error [I]: "ANA"

everything else seems to work ok (Availability, Fares).

Any help would be appreciated

To guess the obvious question, yes I am using KVS on Ubuntu Linux through Wine. I hope the KVS website, that said people are using KVS sucessfully using emulation, didn't cause me to buy an unnecessary membership as *A Award searches are what I am primarily interested in (unitl I can get some points in my ANA account).

We are currently looking into an issue that appears to affect the use of the [Awards/StarAlliance] Method on Mac & Linux machines and which is caused by an apparent bug in one of the Microsoft/Windows components.
