I haven't been able to get routing rules for any fares since yesterday, the window pops up but I get some sort of error:

For example:

INVLD CATEGORY >4FBWISFOXXXUXXXR7KN-UA#RTG


It's been this way a few airlines I've tried. Also, why can we only request routing rules once per minute and like 2 every 5 minutes? ExpertFlyer doesn't seem to have this limitation so I'm curious as to why KVS does.

The Routing Rules issue has now been resolved (no download is necessary).

Such checks are in place for various operational reasons and should not be noticeable, unless you are trying to submit multiple Routing Rules requests per minute.

Opening a URL in KVS Tool
 

I use KVS Tool from within a virual machine using VMWare Fusion on a Mac. I've got VMWare Tools set up to open Firefox on my Mac as the default browser.

Unfortunately, when I try to open a URL from within KVS, it creates a local file, inaccessible from outside the VM, that redirects to the URL, and points the default browser at that. It looks like VMWare Tools (or Windows?) realizes the URL is local and opens Firefox inside the VM instead of Firefox outside the VM.

Does anyone have a workaround for this? I'd really like to not have to use Firefox inside the VM. It would be nice if the KVS tool opened the URL directly, instead of using a level of redirection.

Sounds like you need to make the Windows TEMP directory a Host/Guest Shared Folder & set-up an association for .HTM files, as described at http://Communities.VMWare.com/thread/166177

Awesome, thanks for the hint! I definitely searched around for a while, but I was always thinking about the default browser instead of the default action for opening HTM files.

I don't want to set all temp files to go to the host operating system, so I did the following:

* Using the Sharing Tab in the Virtual Machine settings, I created a new shared folder (called "VMWare Temp"). It lives somewhere on my Mac filesystem, and shows up in Windows as Z:\VMWare Temp

* Created a file "KVS.bat" that lives somewhere on my C:\ drive in the windows VM. It contains the following:

* Set the default application for opening HTM files to be "Default Host Application".

* Added KVS.bat to my start menu. Made the name pretty and made it use the pretty KVS Tool icon.

* Instead of starting up the KVS tool directly, I use the KVS.bat I made, and it automatically opens URLs on my Mac where I want them.

This makes KVS way more usable with VMWare Fusion, especially in Unity mode.

Issue finding oneworld awards (JL/AY/LA)

Apologies if the answer is obvious. I looked through the FAQ but couldn't find an answer.

I am trying to find availability for JL and AY into and out of NRT from PEK and to HEL, respectively. I've also been unable to find any LAN results.

I have not been able to find any results, much less availability, for these two airlines. The FAQ says they are both supported, and I am using the Amadeus: Awards/oneworld Method. I haven't had any problems finding QF, BA, AA, CX.

Do I need to put in another FF number somewhere, or what is the problem?

Indeed, awards on both AY and LA are supported via the [Awards/OneWorld] Method.

For JL, only F awards are currently supported via [Galileo: ETR], as per http://Help.KVSTool.com/#Classes

I am assuming if it says "No Awards Available" this means nothing in any cabin is available, but not necessarily that the engine is not locating that there is a flight?

Additionally, I have noticed when querying KVS that LAN flights operated by 4M do not show as 4M, but rather as LA. I was looking for flights from AEP-USH, and only when searching LA did they show up. I am certain these flights are operated by 4M (and the oneworld timetable verifies this), so is this an error in the way information is fed to KVS from the server?

Big difference between UA Air and KVS
 

Hi,
I'm looking at Dec 11, Flt 125 HNL-PHX. KVS is showing F7, but US is only showing 3 available seats in F. We are hoping to u/g with miles, so if 3 is right, I don't think we'll be sitting up front :(.
Any ideas on why the difference?

You can buy 7 F seats on the flight direct from usairways.com. When you say that US is only showing 3 what are you looking at? The seat map? That is not an accurate reflection of the seats for sale.
