Our Web Hosting provider had just reported that they were finally able to resolve their core network/hardware issue, so we are just waiting for them to confirm when the KVS Tool website server will become available again.

Please accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience this outage is causing.

In the meantime, if you have an urgent Availability/Fare/etc. search request, please E-Mail or PM directly and we will send you the results via a reply message.

From previous post I understand that just the authentication needs your site.

How about making it redundant, or with a mirror site where it could just "activate" the program so people could use it?

It's a bit more complicated than that, but it is something that we will be looking into implementing in the future in order to avoid situations like this.

Having said that, this is actually the first significant outage over the last 6 years that the KVS Tool has been in existence...

Same here. Fortunately, I have a few KVS windows opened. But can't open more due to this authentication issue.

Indeed, those users, who had launched the KVS Tool before the outage had started, should keep the window open for uninterrupted access.

Sucks that KVS has to be down the one day that I need it. There definitely should be a way to have a mirror server that has a replica database for the tool to authenticate to.

Sorry guys, my fault. I'm a new subscriber as of late last night, did a couple of queries, then it went offline :)

Glad to hear this isn't a common occurrence.

Phew! That's a relief - thought it must be me. :o In 12 hours KVS, Peninsula and Prority Cleb web sites have all collapsed on me.

You know that there are other free resources out there that provide access to the same data, right??

This post is analogous to someone ambushing a Mercedes service department and trying to convince one of their customers that there is no need to wait for their MB being repaired, since they can hitchhike for free :p.

That's not a fair comparison at all. Free tools like the Wandering Aramean Availability tool are quite similar.

Such arrogance from a guy who didn't bother to architect the product to withstand such a simple outage. Classy.

I'd actually equate it to suggesting to someone who is blinded by the shiny metal on the hood of their car that there are plenty of other cars out there that offer the same functionality at a fraction of the price. If your product really is that special then an educated consumer should still be willing to pay for it. And you you continue to obfuscate and deny the reality of what your selling.
