KVS, you say that KQ award inventory is available, but it's not. Even after going to the link you suggest for Method Information, it clearly states that the only award inventory showing is DL, KL, AF so pretty much just what delta.com shows. Both the online tool, and my computer tool do not display the W or D classes for KQ...can you please point out how I can see it as available as many people on here seem to have the same problem of not finding it. Thanks!

It is supposed to be viewable using the availability tab with the Galileo: Availability/ETR method and inputing "D" for business awards and "W" for coach awards on the classes line. In my experience since February 1st, it does not show these classes available for long haul on KQ between NBO and AMS, CDG and LHR. I called DL several times and found availability when KVS showed none.

Actually, it says at http://Help.KVSTool.com/#Classes that for KQ awards you need to use the [Galileo: ETR] method (and not the [DLM: Awards/SkyTeam] Method, which you appear to be using :)):

[KVS Availability Tool 5.2.0/Diamond - Galileo: Availability/ETR/JP]
Code:

LHR  London Heathrow UK [EGLL]
NBO  Nairobi Metro / Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta Int'l KE = NBO WIL [HKNA]
THU  01 Jul 2010

Carrier    Flight  From  Depart    To    Arrive    A/C  St  Availability

KQ        101    LHR  20:00    NBO  06:30 +1  772  0  D4 W4 C4 S4

KVS, Im going to get this at some point, I promise:) Im posting this here since it seems others are hunting for KQ availability too. I can find the search you posted above. But every other search for the last two weeks Ive tried in March for CAI-NBO; NBO-JNB; NBO-DKR has said Query Returned No Results when searching for D class. Sure, there could be no D class, but that seems strange given KQ's wide availability. Am I doing something wrong still even after following the advice listed above?

Can you call Delta to check what they see for those same queries? That's my issue - KVS showed no availability but Delta did.

Also, I too see "D"" and "W" in the July 1 example KVS provided.

I can, and I will. But, I was hoping that buying the KVS subscription would ease the process in searching and calling a bit.

Terms like "strange", "logical" and "common sense" are usually not applicable within the inventory/revenue management realms :)

There is a slight possibility that this may be a technical/connectivity issue (on KQ's end), but, most likely, there is just no award availability for the dates/routes you are looking for...

This makes sense...there doesnt appear to be availability on KQ before mid-May on any route. Or out of the 50 or so queries I did, Im having zero luck. With KQ, it seems more like theyve locked up inventory for some reason. Perhaps just for a certain time period...and I wonder if that means phone agents cant see it either!

New to KVS so please excuse this very basic quesiton, as I feel my way around.

When I search for fares, I get a page showing the lowest 25 or so fares in my chosen class, but I don't see a means of moving on to the next higher batches of fares. Am I missing something ??

Please try the following:
  • If using [Fares/TVN], activate the [Max] option and try again;
  • Use [Fares/DotRes], where you can specify a Cabin Class and narrow the list, based on departure/return dates;
  • Use [Fares/PSH], where you can specify a Cabin Class and narrow the list, based on the departure date.

P.S. Please PM, indicating your current e-mail address on your KVS Tool account.

Specifying the carrier in the travelocity.ca search will also help as it will show more fares for that carrier rather than just the base 25. That often helps.

Using ITA to look for UA award and upgrades now only shows direct flights, connections are no longer displayed.

For example DEN - MUC displays only the one direct flight a day and none of the connections at ORD or IAD. DEN - BRU shows no flights because only connections are available.

Actually in some cases this is a desirable feature, but when looking for all possible routings on a given day it is a serious disadvantage.

Just requested DEN/MUC for FEB 24 via ITA: Awards-Upgrades/X1 and see both direct (UA 902) and connections (14 via ORD & IAD with various intermediate points).

Are you sure you haven't left the Filter on by mistake? ;)

Advice

I just started using KVS this evening, and was wondering if any "new user guides" existed... I have gotten some of the basic features down, but would like to learn more about the advanced features of KVS..

Thanks
