Mac OS X - KVSTool works easy

I tried WinOnX (for a few $ in the Appstore).
KVS Tool Works perfectly. @:-)

Win On X is based on Wine.

No need for WIN on my MAC anymore and destroyed 45GB Virtual Maschine.
Yeah!:)

Yeah!:)

That is nice, but the bigger issue is that it is 2012 and KVS is still not supported natively on mac, or web for that matter. Here is to hoping KVS modernizes with apps for iOS/Android/Mac

KVS shows - but ExpertFlyer shows 4 F seats...

Hello.
Confused.
I use both KVS and ExpertFlyer.

KVS shows - for award (-) First class (O) on LX161 Sept 12 NRT-ZRH

BUT

ExpertFlyer shows (O) 4 seats available...

Which to believe to use my USairways miles with.

Thank you.

belfordrocks Aug 30, 2012 5:59 pm

KVS,

I'd recommend adding VirtualBox to the list of ways to run the program on a Mac. It's totally free, and doesn't glitch out/take up too much battery life like CrossOver, or require you to restart like BootCamp. I've been using this for a while and it works like a charm.

If you are redeeming US DM miles, then you would need to check the Alliance/Partner Award Availability.

The 'expanded' Award Availability is for M&M members only and is irrelevant for your purposes.

Only the KVS Tool supports both 'sets' of Award Availability:

[KVS Availability Tool 7.0.4/Diamond - SNT: Awards/StarAlliance/JP-ANA-SP1]

I have used KVS for years now and followed your advice and did use:
POS: SP1 and also STD on SNT: Awards/StarAlliance and again comes up
(-) for FS and CS...what am I missing here?
Thank you.

Should there be an entry for F in this search?

Hello, please see the picture of a redemption search below. We already have seats of QF12 in J on 24th Dec 2012. I'm going to keep an eye on availability in F now that we're on the A380 which has F. However, the search doesn't show anything (positive or negative) for F. Am I missing something?

monksy Aug 31, 2012 3:54 pm

Is there a good guide on putting together fares with this? [I.e. a start to finish tutorial].

Thank you.

Remember, award availability is constantly changing. I am no longer seeing a C seat available on that flight, so I'm guessing someone took the seat. As explained by KVS, there was never any F availability for you since you are using US miles and not LX miles.

trolly2012 Aug 31, 2012 9:45 pm

Thank you.
I just wanted to make sure my settings were right.
I appreciate the forum members' help.

Just renewed as Plat and thought this would allow me to see BA UG avail as per

http://www.kvstool.com/MembershipLev...?Source=HOME-C

But the tool is telling me I need Diamond?

BA Award/Upgrade Availability is accessible via the [Awards/OneWorld] Method at the Platinum level.

It is also accessible via [Awards/BA-OneWorld] & [Awards/JL-OneWorld] Methods at the Diamond level.

The [Awards/OneWorld] Method does not show Cabins that have no Award Availability.

If you would prefer to see the lack of Award Availability more explicitly, you can use the [Awards/JL-OneWorld] Method instead:

Can KVS do that? If so how do I do it?

Problem With Routing Rules Engine?

Is anyone else having problems accessing routing rules at the moment?

I'm getting the following error message:
"* INVALID RQST FOR RTGS - USE 4FR AND SPECIFY LINE NBR"

(even when trying various fares and city-pairs which I am sure have worked in the past).

Win7, KVS 7.0.4/Diamond - in case it makes a difference...

How To Save Itineraries

I hope it's not just me but I cannot find how the "Save" function works on the tool.
I am currently Diamond and what I would like to do is add the fixed dates I have for
my departing flight and then the return. I want to use British Airways. I can leave from
SEA, SFO or LAX to LHR. My return from LHR can also be to one of those three.

I was curious if I can add (Save??) this information once so I don't need to key each
combination in each time I want to search.

Is it's possible to load SEA/LHR, SFO/LHR or LAX/LHR on my departure date and then the
reverse for the return date I want? Then return any time I want and search for award
space with a few clicks.

Appreciate hearing from anyone with the answer.

Yes, if you get a specific search set up, you can hit the save button and it will show up under the "My Trips" tab. After that, you can just click on a line in that tab and it will populate the search and then you just hit the search button.

Win On X is based on Wine.

Thanks for confirming -- we will be adding WinOnX to the http://Help.KVSTool.com/#Mac section of the KVS Tool User Guide.

Also, if you can provide a screenshot via http://Contact.KVSTool.com/, we would be pleased to include it as well.

There are no alerts as such, but once you [Save] the desired itinerary to [My Trips], it only takes a mouse-click to periodically [re-]check Availability.

I am trying to search for awards on Aug 27 & 28 2013 for British Airways, both of which are up

an airline has them available can I see them on KVS?

BA opens up availability 355 days in advance. Thus, current availability is through August 27, 2013. I can see award flights for the 27th on the BA website as well as using KVS (both Amadeus Awards OneWorld and Amedeus Awards BA-OneWorld).

Indeed, the maximum range for BA Award Availability is 355 days and it is the same whether you use the KVS Tool or the BA.com website.

KVS, what's the expected impact of UA's decision to hide all the seat inventory information they previously provided?

UA Upgrade Availability Update

  • UA Upgrade Availability: [Upgrades/UA] Method Replaces [Awards-Upgrades/UA]. UA Upgrade Availability display changes from numeric to [+/-] format.

Please refer to the updated Method Info & UA Booking Classes Table sections for details on the new display and be sure to download the latest version (V7.0.5).

  • UA Award Availability: No impact. Availability continues to be accessible via the [Awards/StarAlliance] & [Awards/AC-StarAlliance] Methods.

  • UA Regular Availability: No impact. Availability continues to be accessible via the [Sabre: FS] & [Galileo: ETR] Methods.
