I don't see anything about a fuel surcharge in the fare rules for the code (neither in KVS nor on UA when I make a dummy booking, including if I click on "View Rules and Restrictions" after selecting the flights).

OK wait, now I see it under "additional taxes/fees at the top of the UA trip while booking - though it says $1,237 + 117.80 in fees (yet fees list $372 in fuel surcharge, with a footnote of "some fees listed in originally quoted price").

Isn't the fuel surcharge normally mentioned in the fare rules? grr....
You can only see the Other Surcharges via the Fare Rules. The [Fares/FC] Method can display both Fuel & Other Surcharges. Taxes can be calculated via the ITA option.

Those 2 C Award seats should be available. Be sure to ask for 4M specifically; if you just ask for "LAN", then the Agent will likely search for LA flights [only] (and won't find anything).

KVS,
having hard time finding CX seats, getting error with awards/jl-oneword. when using awards/cx, none showing. is cx not releasing seats in advance anymore. rumor flyin around maybe you can shed more info about cx awards. for me will be using AA miles

KVS, is there any way to set up alerts as to when there is availability for a certain (award) class?

Is it maybe in the works for a future release? (Was one of the main reasons I used Expert Flyer a while ago)

Not directly, but you can add the desired searches to [My Trips] in the KVS Tool and quickly re-check Award Availability at your convenience.

Indeed, the Alerting functionality is already being considered.

Both Methods continue to function normally and advance Award Availability looks reasonable as well. If the issue persists, please forward a screenshot via http://Contact.KVSTool.com/

Seatmap discrepancy on LX?
 
Hi, I was just checking if there are any A/B seats open on LX38 (ZRH-SFO) on Apr 21 this year and the KVS tool gave me this

Amadeus enhanced seat maps always give "Error Initializing the Seat Map Engine". I know this worked right after the UA/CO transition because it was the only way to see exit row availability... Tried multiple airlines (UA, US, B6, etc)

Running 6.9.7

Everything else seems fine including standard Amadeus seat maps

Edit:
Of course as soon as I posted it started working....very weird... I've been having issues for the last couple of days with it though

I was following a thread in another forum and came across an output capture of the KVS Tool:

I tried to find it in my current version (Diamond 6.9.7) can couldn't see it anywhere. Is this available? All I can see relating to WSpan is Delta/SkyTeam awards in the FAQ.

Must be a local/transient issue on your (or your ISP's) end -- the Enhanced Amadeus Seat Maps Engine continues to function normally and there have been no other reports of any issues...

I was running it pre-departure after a flight was delayed 2+ hours. Maybe that is the issue. I'll try it again post-departure

I saw a message last night on United.com talking about "maintenance" so something may have been updated in the system causing this problem. Also, having new problems with some reservations I recently made. The "fun" of integrating the websites continues...

I downloaded 6.9.8, but now KVS isn't finding the authentication server--it times out with error 12029.

I've restarted, etc after the install, but it just plain doesn't work now.

The fare buckets to look for on Etihad for biz awards is "I"
You can search fare availability and then filter to codes O & I and see F and Biz awards
This makes it easy to search before calling AA for help

I can't find out what the codes are for Qatar airways
Any help welcome

QR Award Booking Classes are O/I/X, however they are not currently accessible via any Tool or Service that we are aware of.

Date Issue
 
I'm not sure what is causing this, but getting frustrated with a date input issue. I'm running 6.9.8 diamond version. I accidentally selected 4/2/2013 from the date picker (not sure how it came up with 2013 in the first place) on the Availability tab. System came back with "too far out" as expected. I tried to overtype the correct 4/2/2012 date, but every time I press Go it uses 4/2/2013. I tried to select the correct date from the calendar popup and it sets it, but then once again the Go button runs for 4/2/2013 and the entry displays 4/2/2013 even though I changed it to 4/2/2012. This happened a few days ago with a different date and figured it was a fluke. But now I have it again and need to run avail for 4/2. Any ideas?

Sounds like your local system is set to use the D/M/Y date format, so if you enter "4/2" (or "4/2/2012"), then it will interpret that as 04 Feb 2013.

It would be best to enter the date as "2 Apr" to avoid confusion.

Also, make sure that you system date is set correctly.

System date was off by a few days into the future (something to do with Parallels I think). Once I adjusted to be correct, the date entry works. Thanks for the help!

Just want to be sure I'm reading the FAQ correctly -- checking for HA awards using AA miles. I want to do an availability search and look for T or YS?

Are awards on HA using AA miles completely co-extensive with whether there is super saver availability?

HA has a separate Booking Class for partner (incl. AADV) award redemptions -- please see http://Help.KVSTool.com/#Classes

"Super Saver" Availability is only applicable to HA's own FFP members.
