Ah, right. Thanks. I was assuming it would start with the letter 'P'. I take it that the K-UP is the instant upgrade P fare?

UA economy plus seat map

Hi,
For UA seat map results, the rows that correspond to "economy plus" seats always show zero available seats (even when these seats show availability on the UA.com seat map). This is true no matter which KVS seat method I use (premium economy, economy, Amadeus-text, Amadeus-enhanced). Is there another way to see these seats in KVS? Thank you.

Unfortunately, UA does not provide status of Economy Plus-designated seats through the system, so they are not currently supported in the Seat Maps. However, this may change, once the UA-CO integration is complete.

Yes, it is.

Hi,

I'm thinking of getting a membership for the KVS tool BUT there seems to be some misleading information.

On the over view page it is clearly stated that the Award Availability section list shows SkyTeam Award Availability (AF KL DL SU KEP MU) under Platinum, but when clicking the link it shows that it's only available for Diamond subscribers

Which is it?

Thanks

I had the same question when I started and had to upgrade to Diamond to get it to work. I agree it could do with better wording. I was confused too and others have referred to it as well. Come on KVS people, it's a small change to modify the wording given all the feedback.

Thanks for letting me know golfmad. Not sure I want to part with my money if I don't know what I'll be getting though the product looks ok.

We have a case of false advertising then :td:

I think that's a bit strong. Just a little unintentional ambiguity I'd say. I'd recommend that they fix it as soon as possible though.

KVS Support ???

Hi,
Is there an official support email ? or support team telephone number?
I am not getting any response from KVS,
I still haven't been issued my Permanent Registration Credentials,
I got my Temporary Registration Codes on the 16th which was issued instantly but after two days it ran out. I sent an email this morning but as there is no support ticket, so I don't know if they got my email.

Thanks
Rich.

metallim Jan 19, 2012 2:09 pm

hey is there any way to get kvs on my HP touchpad? When I try downloading crossover it says it can't open the "MIME".

I tried the mobile companion online but its pretty limited.

Welcome to the KVS Tool!

Your 2 Registration requests have been successfully received earlier on today and your Permanent Credentials will be issued shortly.

As always, it is best to complete the Registration Wizard form right away, so that your Permanent Credentials arrive well before your Temporary Code expires.

Not ideal, but I just started using Splashtop on my Android tablet. It allows me to remote into my laptop at home and from there I can run KVS. Requires that you have a PC with KVS up and running at home or somewhere though.

LamboRich Jan 19, 2012 2:33 pm

thanks

I thought it would automatically send me a reg code, i didn't realize that i had to register two times. Sorry, it wasn't clear for me.
Now I get it :) Thanks for sorting out the issue, i look forward to the codes. thanks
Rich.

i thought about doing that, there's a great splashtop app for the tp, but it's annoying to be dependent on always having your computer on at home. if the computers in sleep mode can you access it? or only if its on and "up"?

Are there any plans for adding Galileo Availability to the mobile app? Without it I can't see AA.

Award Availability for many carriers is accessible via more than one Method in the KVS Tool.

SkyTeam Award Availability for AF KL DL SU KE MU can be checked via a combination of the the [WSpan: Awards/DL-SkyTeam], [Galileo: ETR] & [Sabre: GTC] Methods, all of which are available at the Platinum level.

The main KVS Tool application requires a 'proper' machine to run on (desktop, laptop or NetBook).

CrossOver can be used to run the KVS Tool on Mac & Linux systems.

The KVS Tool Mobile Companion supports all of the most common 'on-the-go' functions and can be used on all Mobile & Tablet Devices (incl. HP TouchPad):

http://www.KVSTool.com/Mobile-Companion-Info.php

However, if you require additional functionality, a remote access solution (such as the one, described by jasonvr above), would certainly work.

While the currently-displayed information is accurate, specific proposal(s) that would improve clarity, would certainly be most welcome...

The KVS Tool Mobile Companion fully supports AA flights via its standard [Availability] function.

By TP, do you mean Transformer Prime (that's what I am using). I think the PC would have to be on. In theory Wake on LAN could help, but I don't know how you would trigger it based on the way Splashtop works,

Awards not showing

I'm new to the Tool. Sometimes it does not show the awards. I'm looking at SEA to CDG on 12 Sep. There's lots of availability, but when I switch to Awards, I get "No Award Availability/Route too complex/Date-out-of-range"

http://www.coking.com/temp/kvs5.jpg

There's probably some filter I need to turn off or on.

My goal is to find a Biz seat TATL, going on 12 Sep, returning on 22 Sep.
I'll being going on to Krakow, Poland (KRK) and returning from Prague, Czech. I may just purchase an EasyJet ticket from and too Paris, since there are very few match connecting flights with awards.

No fare in system

I've searched through this thread and found various examples but no 'solution' to the problem. I've been searching through several West Coast ex-WAS/BWI fares today (-SEA, -LAX, -SFO, etc.), and for many flights I run into the 'NO FARE IN SYSTEM' when I try to find Routing Rules.

I've tried to move "up" in Fare Basis to see if a particular bucket is not updated, again to no avail. I had a friend login through his ExpertFlyer account and he is able to pull up routing rules, so I know that they exist somewhere - looking to see if I don't have something configured correctly or am not doing something right on my end to constantly receive this error message.

Thanks!

Dan6681 Jan 20, 2012 4:39 pm

Just tried it, you are right it work fine.

There is currently an issue with the Routing Rules Engine for certain Fares. If there are any particular one(s) you are interested in, please feel free to PM their details (city pair/carrier/Fare Basis) and we will look them up for you.

The [Awards/SkyTeam] Method will only show flight combinations that actually have Award Availability, so you need to split your search into segments.

As can be seen from the data below, there are award seats on the Trans-Atlantic hub-to-hub portion, but intra-US Standard ("Low") Award Availability on DL is non-existent:

P means preferred seats and those seats indicated are definitely not. I guess they mean the seats are still available but should have been indicated by + instead of P.

The [P] Seat Attribute is coming from AC and they have multiple types/levels of Preferred Seats.

Indeed, all [P] Seats are, in fact, available, so [P] can be treated the same as [+], when the Premium designation is not relevant for your purposes.

A slight anomaly

I did a check for the AC2 on Jan 30. It returned 0 across the board.

I didn't believe that. So I did another search for YYZ-LGA and it turns out the flight is far from being full:

Is there a reason for this?

It can't be married segments. I did another search with the Galileo method for R space and it came out R9

Indeed. Everything is back to normal now. This has been going on for at least an hour!

Just wanted to say that this tool has been very helpful so far. I am looking for a U class reward on CX next november and the same on a KA flight. I signed up as a diamond member and this tool has been a lot of fun and helpful. Still waiting for CX to release the inventory though!

Thanks for making this tool available!

KVS Mobile Companion and Airport Code

When I check availability on my tablet using the Mobile companion for YYZ - to GRU (*A) (Feb 27th) it loads AC90 as YYZ to SAP not GRU (same for other *A carriers).

Comparing to my desktop KVS, booking class / availability appears to be correct. Just curious why the arriving airport code is incorrect? I know it downloads what it receives from Sabre, but why SAP not GRU? I don't want to upgrade to Honduras, or go there, for that matter. Thanks KVS.

The Availability Engine in the KVS Tool Mobile Companion may experience occasional issues interpreting certain airport names/codes. You can verify the routing by clicking the http://www.kvstool.com/Images/InfoSquareBlue16.png [Flight Info] icon and use the Contact Form to quickly report any such occurrences.

Rest assured, the Flight #, Availability, and all other data are always correct.

Interestingly, I'm seeing some disagreement between Awards/OneWorld and Awards/BA-OneWorld on AKL-SYD on Jan 30 and 31. On Jan 30, OneWorld shows no seats on the LAN flight, though BA-Oneworld shows YS9. On Jan 31, OneWorld shows YS+ for 2 seats, but not 3, on the LAN flight (but with QF flight number), while BA-OneWorld shows YS3. On a separate note, I've read elsewhere that AAdvantage awards can't even use this segment, but I'm not sure where that is officially stated.

Looks like a system connectivity issue between LA and its partners. Their own system is currently reporting zero YS Award Availability on both of those dates.

Award seats on the QF/LA codeshares are only available to QF FFP members, so they are irrelevant if you are redeeming AADV mileage.

Hi KVS,

For some reason my Enhanced Seat Map functionality is not working.

Have posted on a forum before asking people for a seat map for a particular flight like BA7311 / in PE for 10 Aug 2012.

My basic seat map works but the enhanced one does not - the error is below:

Unable to find a matching flight, or the flight is not currently available for sale in the requested cabin class [2].
