FWIW, I also saw the incomplete seatmap issue recently on a Qantas international flight in the economy section.

It is a limitation of the [Enhanced Seat Map] Engine -- to see the Map for the entire Cabin, please use the [Amadeus Seat Map] option instead.

Just updated to 6.9.5 and currently trying to get seat map for CX889 Mar 31 (YVR-HKG) but it's coming up 'Seat map unavailable or unsupported for this Flight, Cabin or Carrier...' on both Amadeus Text and Amadeus Enhanced options.

Any ideas?

CX is currently experiencing system issues with the Seat Maps, which may be related to their upcoming switch-over to Amadeus. This affects the availability of its Seat Maps via the KVS Tool and seat selection via the CX.com website.

I would like to give a big ^ to the KVS team.

A couple of weeks ago I bought a subscription in order to prepare for a redemption of 600K AA miles.

Thanks to the tool I was able to book 6 outbound J CX seats from CLT-DFW-LAX-KUL. This morning I was able to snag the return flight, from BKK-HKG-JFK, 5 seats in F, 1 in J. I'll be on the outlook for another F seat opening up so I can get my other daughter into F as well.

I know a lot of peole say they can search airline sites and find redemptions, but I think this tool made the search very easy, especially when I had multiple sessions open while cobbling this all together.

Anyone else getting Datasource Error: "(Engine Temporarily Unavailable)" error? I'm doing a Galileo: Availability / ETR search for AC flights YVR-YYZ on Feb 14. Seems no query works. I've upgraded to 6.9.5

Still error data source error RD-3. Any hint with which settings I might play around?

Hey KVS, any chance of adding +-7 days search function on awards?

This is the only thing that I find better in your competitors.

If we were doing a wishlist, then I'd add automated search with an email notification ;)

Hi, I'm very interested in using the tool but before place a financial commitment I'd like to try it first (diamond) even if its for a day or two to see if it attends my demands. Is this tool also providing alerts when a given seat/fare becomes available? thanks

CX/KA reservation system is down this weekend(thus affecting KVS inquiries)...I got an email from them last week preparing me for this outage...states:

On 11 and 12 February, Cathay Pacific and Dragonair will upgrade their passenger reservation system to ensure they can continue meeting their passengers' needs in the future.

During the transition, it will be necessary for them to temporarily suspend some of their services, including their websites – www.cathaypacific.com and www.dragonair.com – which will go entirely offline worldwide at 3pm on 11 February, Hong Kong time (GMT+8). They will be brought back online in stages throughout the day on 12 February, and the majority of services on the site will be available by approximately 8pm that day.

What will happen during this period (3pm Hong Kong time, 11 February, to approximately 8pm Hong Kong time, 12 February)

•Reservations and ticketing services will not be available, so it will not be possible to make new bookings or change existing bookings, including redemption bookings or upgrades on
Cathay Pacific , Dragonair, and all other Asia Miles partner airlines.
•Online and mobile services will not be available, including online booking, online redemption, online ticket change, online check-in, printing eTickets, boarding passes, flight information, Advance Seat Reservation, special meal requests, and others.

sure, eg. :

generally, the cheapest fares don't have fare routing rules available.

How does one tell that all S fares use the same routing (or even specifically routing 947)?

derekmines Feb 15, 2012 12:36 am

I have a query regarding KVS if a regular user would be so kind....

I need to book a flight from LHR to SEA at some point during mid Sept, staying for around 16 days or so.
The dates are in no way fixed so I can work around a good flight price.

Ideally I'd like to buy a WT+ seat and upgrade to J using my Avios, but BA's site is currently showing no upgrade availability to SEA on any day.

Can KVS give me the information I need to make a booking at the best price possible given the date parameters?
I have no issue in paying for the software, but there's not much point if it can't do what I need.

Thanks in advance.

It is virtually always the case, but you can verify the patterns by looking at the Routing Rules of other Fares for the same city pair/carrier. As always, please feel to E-Mail/PM your query if you would like us to further verify using a different system.

Is anyone experiencing problems with the tool the last couple of hours? I keep getting a WDC-U error and the website www.kvstool.com is also showing as 'cannot be found'. Any clues?

Indeed, all KVS Tool systems continue to function normally:

Please contact your ISP or network administrator should the problem persist.

Glad you're enjoying your KVS Tool membership -- congratulations on finding your desired CX F Awards and good luck with getting the remaining F seat for your daughter!

All back to normal now. Strange but temporary problem.

Licensing question

I would like to have the KVS software installed on both a work system and a home system.

Is is possible to have the software installed on two different computers for a single user? Or does your software only allow it to be installed on one systems for a user at a given time. I am not talking about concurrent usage, just the ability to have the software installed on two different systems. That would allow me to use it at work and then later on at home if the need arose.

It does see KVSTool.com and scroll to the bottom.
