Seat Maps: we're currently not able to show seat maps for flights departing within the next 24 hours for several airlines: DL, BA, QR , ANA, B6, & JL
Searches currently not working:
- Upgrades - AY, BA, EK, EY, IB, QR, VS
- Awards - AY, BA, IB, EY, QR, VS
To search AA upgrades:
- Use the Award & Upgrade tool
- Only search for individual segments (set the "Connection Preference" drop-down to "Direct/Non-Stop only"). Flight results that are part of a connection won't show the upgrade version of C or A inventory because AA only files upgrade inventory as individual, not married, segments. (Married segments show revenue inventory instead of upgrade inventory.)
- To avoid confusion, check the "Exclude Codeshares" box, as AA awards and upgrades are not valid on codeshares.

(Although I'll note that the new site at least seems to have done away with the never-ending aircraft "change" alerts that were triggered by European carriers constantly adding or subtracting a row of intra-Europe business class, which is a very welcome change - I care whether the aircraft is a 223 or a 320, not whether AF is selling 3 rows of J one day and 4 rows the next, or vice versa).

The flights on major airlines that weren't working (AC, BA) are at least now returning a result. Although for some reason it's inconsistent - e.g. the one I previously reported lists the aircraft as "Boeing 737 MAX 8 (7M8)", whereas other AC-operated flights just say "7M8". Same with AC327 YUL-YYC 9/11/25, which yesterday was also generating an error; it now works and returns "Airbus A220-300", while other AC flights say "223".
But it also appears that the new version of the site only returns one error when an aircraft change alert fails. For instance, with airlines like DM or SI that don't make seat maps available, it returns the same generic "Failed to create alert Please try again, if the problem persists contact support". Before the switch to the new site, it would reject the alert with a message that seat maps were not available for this airline.
I'm still not sure why a seat map is necessary when the flight schedule alert shows the type though...

Feature Update
Hey all,
We just released a new feature called "Quick Alerts" to make alert creation faster and easier. This lets you create multiple alert types directly from one form.
Right now, you'll see this as a standalone feature (accessible via the feature menu), but over the next couple of days we'll be integrating it into the results pages themselves (flight availability, awards and upgrades).

Some people found those alerts useful - so they know if they have selected a seat in advance, and the airline then changes the J/Y config, they are at risk of being seat shifted to a random sub-optimal seat wherever the computer drops them into, so they should check their seating allocation to see what has happened.
Especially as, e.g. Lufthansa prefers bumping you to row 30 or so without letting you know.
The other thing is: when the layout changes, new possibilities open up (e.g. you can now reserve a seat as some become available whereas you weren't able to before).

This is useful for frequent travelers that are looking for alternate flights that are currently sold out- I've used it successfully to find space, but had to create over a dozen alerts for each flight of interest
.... Unless there is a way to do it, and I don't know how

Are there any plans to add a quick alert for when "Seats in ANY fare class become available on a specified flight?" Creating individual alerts for each of the classes (C, J, R, D, I, Y, B, H, K, M, L, G, V, S, N, Q, O) for a single flight is currently painful. Perhaps a modified GUI to pre-populate the dropdown with the different fare classes plus an "any/all" option? Or even a multi-select control would work. (but ANY would be quickest)

Looks like the Flight Availability function has gone offline for me. I have been seeing just the spinner for the last 30 minutes.

Not fixed for over a month
- CX seat maps showing blocked as occupied, terrible as within 48 hours all open seats become blocked, so effectively EF seatmaps and alerts on CX are completely at T-48 hours
- Flight duration for individual segments on connections, first segment now shows as 0:00 and second segment showing the total elapsed time instead of individual.
