Seat Maps: we're currently not able to show seat maps for flights departing within the next 24 hours for several airlines: DL, BA, QR , ANA, B6, & JL
Searches currently not working:
  • Upgrades - AY, BA, EK, EY, IB, QR, VS
  • Awards - AY, BA, IB, EY, QR, VS

To search AA upgrades:
  • Use the Award & Upgrade tool
  • Only search for individual segments (set the "Connection Preference" drop-down to "Direct/Non-Stop only"). Flight results that are part of a connection won't show the upgrade version of C or A inventory because AA only files upgrade inventory as individual, not married, segments. (Married segments show revenue inventory instead of upgrade inventory.)
  • To avoid confusion, check the "Exclude Codeshares" box, as AA awards and upgrades are not valid on codeshares.

Just received multiple emails from EF regarding flight availability and seat alerts... however I had removed/deleted these from my alerts weeks ago. I went and checked to make sure and they don't show up in my saved/expired/notified list.
So EF is sending ghost alerts that I don't care about.

I wonder if theyre in the old interface and youre logged into the new one but the two dont communicate? Just a thought but EF will know.

Airfares and availability are very dynamic and complex. At some point in the past a R fare may have been offered that was eligible for a given flight. Now lets say such a ticket need to be changed, rules may require availability in the same class of service as originally purchased under the original rules, even if a fare is no longer available with the same rules. Thus you will often find flights close to departure time that appear to have many booking classes available, but you won't be able to buy a ticket at any of the "lower" classes.... they are "available" to accommodate changes that may be permitted by a ticket rule in the past.

Rylan, thank you for flagging this issue! We are currently investigating it, as we received several similar reports over the weekend. At this point, we believe we have identified the root cause and expect to push an update soon (today or tomorrow morning). We will keep this channel updated and provide confirmation once the fix is live.

Hi All - Quick update on the alerts issue some of you have reported

What happened: Some users received duplicate notifications for alerts that had already been notified or deleted. We discovered our alert deletion function wasn't properly removing alerts from the system.

Resolution: Our team has fixed the root cause and the system is now functioning normally, and no further duplicate notifications should occur.

Thank you to everyone who reported this issue, please keep your feedback coming.

However, as these commercial VPN providers are often abused by third party actors for their purposes, many Threat Defense solutions limit access to assets protected by them to requests that are coming from commercial VPNs.

ExpertFlyer Voice Bug report: I have my settings set to default to Origination city as YYZ. On desktop or mobile, when I click or tap into origination city field (flight availability) to change it, it doesn't change to YYZ code (love this new feature). I have to click to another field and back in to get the full name of Pearson International airport to change to just the YYZ city code to edit. Does that make sense? Would be nice if it changed to YYZ on first click into the field.

I'm not worried about EF. I use my VPN to protect me while I'm using a public Wifi network. I also use it to connect to US VPN servers for accessing my finance sites in the US while traveling overseas. These are two of many valid uses of VPNs. And I've been using NordVPN for years without issue accessing a wide variety of internet sites.

Trailing spaces

I wonder if others have seen this. When entering airport codes into the search fields, if I use auto complete feature on my Android keyboard (e.g. I've entered this code before and rather than type it out I tap on the suggested value) then Android appends a trailing space to the code (probably helpfully thinking I am going to keep typing another word). The trailing space stays in the field when I tap into another field. Then when I submit the form, EF tells me it can't find the airport code and I have to go into the field to delete the trailing space.

EF Voice, a simple fix would be to always trim any spaces from this field before executing the search.
