Honest answer is we don't know yet. We are looking into several alternatives. Will post an update about this next week at the latest.

But on the other hand, it could lose airlines bookings. My weekend opened up unexpectedly due to a medical appointment being moved so I decided to book a last minute trip. One Y Avios seat was available to a destination I really wanted to visit on a flight departing 18 hours later. But I couldn't risk booking without seeing the seatmap first as there might only be middle seats left (I'm a big guy and no-one wants me in there!).

If Ryanair can show me the seatmap on their app up to check-in close time, why can't BA?

To be brutally honest: that short prior to departure airlines don't care about people that want to check specific seats (and fly on Awards). All they care about are people that have to fly, willing to pay almost every price they call.

It's not about "can", it's more about "don't want" as displaying seatmaps allows everybody else to determine exact loadfactors + by how much they overbook flights as, from a competition point of view, this is extremely valuable information.
Ryanair doesn't overly care as their overall structure is different (+ Ryanair's seatmaps cannot almost anonymously be accessed through the GDS).

HA nonrevs depend on ExpertFlyer as they block all seats before departure. Recently, any flights within 48 hours have not been viewable on ExpertFlyer. When will the seat map function be back for Hawaiian?

Are there problems with data for AA within 24 hours? Wife has a flight in a few hours, and Flight Availability is showing J1, but the AA app has her at #1 with 5 seats available. Seatmap is showing 5 open seats in J (which I am aware may not match how many J seats are listed in the Flight Availability section)

If you want to check whether J1 is correct can't you just attempt a dummy booking for differing numbers of pax to check? You are getting the seat map direct from the AA app so that should be correct or it would be an AA issue.

Was the MCT lookup function removed? I can’t for the life of me find it. I think it used to be in the Travel Information section but it’s not there anymore:

Edit: I found it on the desktop version. Has it always been missing from the mobile version and I’ve just never noticed until now?

It appears this was an issue with the AA mobile app. There was only one first class seat for sale on the AA website, which corresponded to EF only showing one seat. The EF seatmap showed 5 first seats unassigned, which ironically is what the AA app was showing as available on the upgrade list.

New website interface just changed in the past hour - BROKEN
I was logged in and using the old interface just fine. Now the new one comes up and can't log in - says invalid username or password. Seriously?! :mad:

Yep, I am in the same situation. I was using the site and then it kicked me out and now getting a new interface that will not let me do anything beyond the homepage.

Managed to reset my password and tried to log in... it accepts my username/password but does NOTHING. Just goes back to the homepage. Click 'sign in' again and nothing happens, just refreshes the homepage.

Can't actually USE the service now!

ENTIRELY BROKEN!!!

Did anybody test this? This is absurd. I have a bunch of flights and alerts I'm watching and can't do anything. :td::mad::rolleyes::td:

I’m also in an Auth loop of death. New site told me password failed. I reset it. Then it kicked me into the old site. And the new reset password doesn’t work.
