Look at the flight availability and fare classes the airline is willing to offer for sale, gives a potential indication of how busy the flight is. Note, indication only. Better barometer that the seat maps info.

Note that for BA, this number will only go as high as 9, and it's not additive, so only look at the full fare (F/J/W/Y) numbers.

Does anyone know if LH-group seat maps are coming back to EF? Their change a month ago or so really screwed up everything and now I've noticed LH group seat maps are completely gone. No longer do you get the "PDS NOT ALLOWED" error but just a simple GDS error saying they can't pull the data. The red warning at the top of EF still says they have AA/DL/NZ seat map issues but zero mention of LH (LH/LX/OS - I didn't check SN).

Edit: LH group seat maps not available within 48 hours now. Used to be 24 as far as I can remember.

Is it within 48 hours of the flight?

Oops. Used to be 24 hours. Now it appears they've extended it to 48 hours. Sorry, my bad.

Yeah, it's super annoying that it just cuts off like that. I've noticed that some cabins (namely long haul First from my experience) still display, which is why the message may have changed.

I created a free account recently. For my first seat alert, I chose "any window seat". This alert expired and I'm trying to create a new one, but all options are disabled except "specific seats" which is not free. Does anyone know why?

Is there a window seat available? It won't let you create it if it would immediately fire off an alert

EF says there is, but it's not selectable on the airline (JAL) page, which is consistent with known policy that they don't release those window seats until ~T-24 hours.

If they're showing blocked (x) you can toggle the blocked box and it should allow you to set, but if they're showing as available, then there's nothing one can do

Is it fair to say EF is showing the wrong information in this case?

I don't know, could you please provide comparison screenshots?

With respect to JAL, the answer is yes. For JAL flights, EF only shows as blocked the seats that are blocked for top tier (Diamond) elites. For other elite levels, JAL blocks seats to the general public but EF does not show them as blocked.

Seat alerts to advise a free seat had been taken?

Hi,

We are travelling on SQ317 as a group of 4, two of the people want a window seat to lean against and the other two want aisle seats).

As the window area is 3 wide, all we can do is book the aisle and window (x 2) and hope that nobody books the middle seat (breaking the group).

Can you seat an alert on EF to advise if a specific seat is taken, if so then we know that a couple may have someone in the middle.

Thanks.

No, there is no feature to alert when a seat becomes taken

Hi,

I have an upcoming trip on AA: JFK-MXP in J, then FCO-LHR-JFK in Y.
Fare code: ILN0T1S5

Is there a way to see the breakdown of the cost by leg? Trying to estimate the Loyalty Points (LP's) from this trip as it will overlap the AA 'cut-off' for Status (Feb 28 2025).
