Looks like someone ordered an iPhone 7 and is prepping for its arrival.

Maybe not...reported sales numbers look good.

If Verizon stores are giving a 200 dollar credit for 5s to iPhone 7 on 2 yr subsidized plans I may have get a free iPhone 7.

We're new customers, so that might be part of it.

with a two year contract, almost anyone can get one for free now with a trade in of a iphone 6 or up.. there is a 5/5s cost of about 200$ but pretty much anyone can now get a free iphone 7 with 24 month lock in, (with 350$ ETF)

Its the new subsidy. Makes sense for the carriers, but needs to be watched and understood closely by analysts and carriers as the iphone 8 will be the real revolutionary device and by next year nearly 2 in 3 customers will be on a 2.5+ year old device.

Renewed Sprint's iPhone Forever lease. 22/mos and a 128gb Matte Black is ordered. Assume will be waiting up to a month for it to actually arrive.

Oh Grados's are very nice. Thumbs up for knowing your stuff. My first pair of Grados's were in 2006 with some SR60, then i climbed up to some SR80 and then i repurchased another pair of SR60 and SR80.

I have been a bit away from the audiophile scene but regard my experience with Grado fondly.

Friend's iPhone 7 Plus on AT&T wouldn't connect to any towers for a few hours. Went to Apple Store. They tried to restore it. It bricked.

And they don't have anymore currently... lulz

Is the Jet Black finish similar to the 3G/3Gs?

It appears to look that way, no?

Yes, looks and feels exactly like that, save that all the buttons are now gloss black as well.

The finish strikes me a ridiculously fragile. The two models I have seen [each store is given only a single iPhone 7 in gloss black for display] were already all beat to hell after just two days of being on display. I have to think that the black will also rub off the buttons very quickly under normal use.

I suppose that if you are going to put the phone in a full case that won't matter as much, but then why get the gloss black in the first place?

I like the current grey, but not the white bezel face they paired it with. I prefer a streamlined front look and don't care for the white front vs the seamless look with the two black models.
