Very slow to load the initial page. I'm on a T-1 at work.

Was faster late last night, but now it is again very slow getting into any forum, not just the largest ones.

dan at WebFlyer Jan 9, 2003 10:11 am

Sorry for the slowdowns... we're trying to isolate the cause and get things back to normal. Thanks for your patience while we poke around...

Thanks, Dan - appreciate the feedback.

FewMiles Jan 9, 2003 3:06 pm

Might it be the system clock lagging behind? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/tongue.gif

Not sure where I'm going, but I'm getting there fast.

RSSrsvp Jan 9, 2003 5:47 pm

Dan, perhaps DL has tied in their new Skymiles program with FT's servers and that is the cause of the slowdown. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

FewMiles Jan 9, 2003 11:29 pm

Whatever the problem was, it now seems to be fixed and FT is nice and fast. Thanks to the tech team (Dan et al.)! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Working very quickly right here, right now - thanks!

RSSrsvp Jan 10, 2003 6:07 am

Dan, the DL board is flying this morning. Too bad the passengers aren't.

tazi Jan 10, 2003 9:03 am

It was working quickly last night but sure seems to have slowed down again this morning for me. I am on a T1 line.

JIMCHI Jan 10, 2003 9:05 am

The entire board has dramatically slowed down again just now. I'm connecting with broadband and it's taking forever to even open the menu. The AA site is still completely down. What's happening and what's holding up restoration of the service??

RSSrsvp Jan 10, 2003 9:38 am

Hi Dan, I'm on DSL, and it has slowed down again. Please issue me an upgrade to normal speed. Can I use segments, or miles? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

dan at WebFlyer Jan 10, 2003 9:42 am

It looks like we're getting slammed with traffic, which is causing our server to bog down. The bigger forums, such as AA, are taking the brunt of it. Sorry about this; it's taken us by surprise as well...

cblaisd Jan 14, 2003 10:44 am

It's nice and speedy this morning, after beeing sluggish last night. Thanks http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Andrew Yiu Jan 14, 2003 12:59 pm

Very very smooth now. Thanks Dan. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

FT is extremely slow loading pages.

FT is extremely slow loading pages this morning. It was fine last night. Perhaps we need some STP to start those engines? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Nice to see FT back after its 24 hour vacation. But it's EXTREMELY slow this morning. Is that function of pent-up demand or ???

RupertS Mar 3, 2003 10:52 am

Slower than the security line at SFO here too. What caused FT to go offline for 24 hours?

cblaisd May 19, 2003 12:54 pm

Really slow right now....

FT is really slow right now for me. Others?

airbus320 May 19, 2003 1:35 pm

slow as molasses in winter. !

dan at WebFlyer May 19, 2003 1:40 pm

An American Airlines thread became corrupted and slowed the system down. We've removed it and the board seems to be back up to speed.

cblaisd Aug 11, 2003 3:48 pm

Hate to bump an old thread, but it's on topic http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

This afternoon FT is REALLY slow. I'm on DSL and am not having a problem with other websites.

FT/Travel is the slowest, but with FT/Miles intermittently close behind

Edit: More diagnosis: OMNI is completely unreachable.

Thanks John/Dan for any assistance.

John at Webflyer Aug 11, 2003 4:13 pm

we're working on it.

Thanks.

cblaisd Aug 11, 2003 5:38 pm

It's back to zooming now.

Thanks for the quick fix http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

cblaisd Aug 23, 2003 9:00 am

It's crawling again this morning. Threads timing out, etc.

Edit: A couple of minutes later things are much speedier, although still not up to usual speed, istm.

Edit: Half and hour later, things seem back to normal.

Thanks.

cblaisd Aug 26, 2003 8:28 am

Significantly slowed this morning. Threads taking 5-20 seconds to begin to display.

John at Webflyer Aug 26, 2003 9:19 am

We're not seeing a slow down here, at least not right now.

Is it still slow for you?

El Cochinito Aug 26, 2003 9:28 am

As of this writing it is taking significantly longer than usual to open threads or reply. Haven't had anything timeout though. FWIW I'm on a T-1 connection.

blackjack-21 Aug 27, 2003 3:00 am

Still slow here, with several timeouts while waiting for threads to open.

bj-21.

MatthewClement Aug 27, 2003 3:42 am

FT Miles is quick enough for me, but FT Travel is slloooooowww this morning. Related to the new access controls around OMNI?

MatthewClement Aug 29, 2003 4:17 am

Everything is slow for me this morning.

dan at WebFlyer Aug 29, 2003 2:11 pm

Sorry for the slow down, but we haven't noticed anything at this end, and the server seems to be running normally.

mikey1003 Oct 2, 2003 4:10 pm
