Ditto for UA for me too.

Michael at WebFlyer Sep 12, 2001 10:05 am

Good morning everybody...well, hopefully better than yesterday morning anyway.

I just wanted to let you all know how greatful we are for your support of one another in the wake of yesterdays tragedy.

Also I want to thank you for your continuing patience with us as regards the continuing struggles on FlyerTalk.

We are at work on several solutions and hope to have everything in place in the very near future. An upgrade in our hardware is in the works as are numerous software solutions including an archived area for past threads on FlyerTalk and we are currently assessing alternative software solutions.

Please keep the feedback coming as we do need to hear from you.

Thanks Michael.

Once again it is better early this morning but, again it appears to increasingly bog down as more folks awaken and hit the FT URL for their daily FT fixes! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

doc Sep 17, 2001 1:34 pm

Down to a crawl again today, sadly.

It's surrisingly slow this morning this last hour, particularly in that it's so relatively early!

Very slow today and yesterday...sort of confused given structural changes and expected impact?

CoachClass Sep 19, 2001 10:14 am

Gotta agree TOTALLY hopeless today.

jabez Sep 19, 2001 2:23 pm

Still slooooooow to impossible.

dan at WebFlyer Sep 19, 2001 3:49 pm

It's almost at a standstill at this end as well. The new virus/worm-du-jour, "W32/NIM", appears to be scanning our server, so that's adding to the already slow condition we've been experiencing.

Never a dull day here... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

belle3388 Sep 19, 2001 4:43 pm

whew! and i thought it was me....

either painfully slow, or impossible to get into any Forum... what is wrong?

I would have expected your site's firewall to be set up to discard virus scans, once identified, so that subsequent scans would never get near the web server.

my bad, I used the wrong terminology... what it appears to be have doing was making simple http requests, which made it difficult to isolate from the "real" http requests we normally get. The virus was looking for particular files native to Microsoft servers, by making requests for these. Since we don't have that type of server environment, all it was getting was 404 pages, but a lot of those...

OMNI - Why does it upload so slow?

I have a question regarding why the omni page uploads so slow. Is it b/c the thread is too large? What can be done that would speed this up. This is the only thread that I have problems with. thanx

kanebear Feb 19, 2002 4:10 pm

Omni is now timing out for me

svpii Feb 19, 2002 4:16 pm

For me too - Daaaaaaaaan - have you removed the 'no' thread again?? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Ha! 'No' is back and OMNI opens fast agian!

moondog Mar 8, 2002 11:43 am

Several forums (OMNI and United, for example) appear to be down right now.

Yes, despite the fact that sometime the bulb seems to show up "lit," I can not go into the UA forum. Is this mean that some one could go intto the forum and post something?

cblaisd Apr 5, 2002 7:49 pm

Was painfully slow for the last hour or so. Any word on what was wrong?

Omni board is slow

I am on a DSL line, and the Omni board is terribly slow in loading. It doesn't matter if you are viewing threads or making a new post, it is really slow. All of the other FT Travel boards are fine. Can this be corrected?

FlyerTalk Slow. United Dead.

Shades of the past and Wednesday slowdowns.

FlyerTalk is very slow for me this morning. It's taking several seconds to access most forums and United has been timing out with the following:

502 Connection Failed
This Web page could not be opened. There may be too many people accessing this page or the page may be unavailable. Please try again later.
Anyone else?

Tennen May 8, 2002 9:47 am

This entire morning I've been able to access just about every forum that I normally visit (Hilton, CC, Itineraries, Trip Reports, American, Singapore, Air Canada, etc) except for United. I thought it was just me.

PremEx May 8, 2002 9:59 am

I've been able to access other forums too. But even they are noticeably slower, especially when submitting a post (such as this one).

Still can't get into United at all.

UAL Traveler May 8, 2002 10:18 am

Same here. Most areas are very slow, including other boards such as FT Travel, and UA is dead.

dan at WebFlyer May 8, 2002 10:20 am

I can't get into United either; I'll rebuild that forum and see if it helps any...
