LX expanded their network last year, they have quite a few routes to service with their A330/343 fleet. When they are short on capacity, the TLV rotation is sacrificed.

Do they have any plans to expand the fleet? I frequently connect on LX as connecting at ZRH is a breeze, and LX is a decent airline (even though I find their seats slightly narrow and hard).
I've already thrown out LH - don't wanna throw out LX also!

Nope, the 77Ws are a few years away.

Are the 77Ws to replace the A343s?

ZRH-TLV: LX replacing one of the daily flights with an A320

6 777 will replace the oldest 343 and LX have an option for 9 more 777.
I think LX will receive another A333 this year.
For the moment I see an A333 on the evening service to TLV quite often.

Obviously, because apart from the occasional last minute aircraft switch, the A333 and A343 are the scheduled aircraft to operate the route at the moment.

This change is not permanent - just a few flights on specific days during summer. For Hebrew readers, see link below which is email to PPB members.

The usual LH and LX claim that they don't make profit on that short haul route when it is operated with a long haul aircraft

This one is also postponed to 2016.
No new longhaul planes before that year.

I had to change my ticket yesterday, after finding out, that my sunday flight was on 320! I don't see a value of paying few thousand euros for business, just to be able to get an extra bag and a 20 euro plate of food, while sitting on the bus...

Mail from Swiss in Israel

Dear Houminer,
I would like to inform you that due to temporary restricted availability within our long haul fleet (The Airbus A340 and A330), we will need to change some of our flights to/from Zurich between December 2014 and February 2015 to an Airbus A321 or Airbus 320.
Our reservation systems have been updated and the information is available either with your travel agent or on swiss.com

I thank you for your understanding,
Best regards,

Swiss employee

I already had this downgrade experience. "Fortunately" I did book Economy, so the aircraft change didn't affect me too much. Somehow felt pity for those in C.

What does bother me more are the unhappy crews on the last 4 flights to /from TLV. Rude, sour faces, bonking every other seat etc . I understand this is not your favorite flight / Shift, but don't let it out on your customers...

Maybe LX should simply make sure it has enough planes with the proper in-flight product to fullfil the contractual obligations it entered.
