LX A321 and A343 have exactly the same seating capacity and completely different economics. Unless there is a real cargo demand, the A321 will always beat the A343/330 on such short hop, especially in the busy summer season were capacity is planned super tight and any aircraft outage matters.

just as a heads up.. on my latest return flights from TLV, I was upgraded as a 1* SEN on both ways since Economy was overbooked like crazy. K class..
Luckily it was a widebody I was UpOped twice into
TLV, similar to PEK, seems to be a great opup route from Y to C due to many pax opting for Y (despite both routes being relatively "rich")

It looks like LX offers a CHF/$299 upgrade to F seating on the ZRH-TLV if its a widebody... anyone done this?
it says no F "
*The upgrade offers all the comfort of a First Class seat, but does not extend to SWISS First food and beverages etc."
Presumably they don't bother to cater F separately, but any luck getting into the First lounge/ground service with this?

I want to cry. Who decided to put the 320 with slimseater seats on the 5:20am feeder flight to the rest of the Swiss network? WHO? Get me their contact details. I'd like to have a word with them.
If you need to fly the 320 at least put a half decent seat. Not your ...... slimseater NEK seats with a blocked seat. EVEN a normal economy seat would be better than this!
Now elevating my options of which other airlines I can rebook to. Not staying up all night to get to a 5am flight to suffer the next 5 hours and then get stuck in a lounge with no where to sleep to continue onto a day flight with a lie flat that I'll end up sleeping in the whole way.

From TLV if flying on LH group LX is the only airline offering Long Haul equipment with the exceptional downgrades which btw on the night flights LX256/7 will stay with A32S aircraft almost on daily basis until the A340 have completed the refurbishment, hence until summer Timetable.
The LX252/3 flight seems to rotate between the 777 and 330 which seems a little weird
Seems like LX are trying to upgrade capacity here and just utilise the largest aircraft available for the TLV flights.
Now with more competition on the long-haul routes at TLV which Swiss previously connected a lot of TLV pax through ZRH, I would have thought that a strong product is more important than before.
TAP are flying the first A321LR to TLV with lie-flat business product from April. Is there a case for Swiss adding a 3rd daily flight with this product? The loads are clearly strong justifying the 77W on one daily flight.

With the A343 in the shop to get the new F, LX fleet is rather stretched even for the winter schedule. Until the refit is complete you will see quite a few A32S substitutions to TLV, especially if some widebodies go tech.

Already in February the A330 is back on most LX256/7, with random days where the A321 operates.

Well, taking into account that AerLingus has just announced that they will be flying A321LRs to major european destinations such as Paris and London, offering a lie flat Business seat on it, my hopes that have always been very dim, are rising that Swiss and Lufthansa might consider doing something similar as well (just like BA that has a subfleet of A321 with lie flat seats for medium haul destinations).
It's not very certain at all, but if Swiss were to order the A321LR I could see some medium haul routes being switched to those finally offering lie flat seats... It'd certainly be my wish.
But I too doubt that there will be a third daily flight.
