Nothing - per usual. I have never understood why Starwood continues to run promos like these where they can have their "good" customers feeling alienated/pissed off. How does that help business in the long run?

My email specifically said that this promo is for those who haven't stayed much recently. I haven't stayed with Starwood in the last few months (moved to Marriott) and got the 2k points for every second stay offer.

They've run the numbers and realize that the "good" customers are more likely to come back anyway--without the need for any promotion. After all, you don't have to promote to people who clearly stay with you a lot.

While some might feel alienated/pissed off like you, others are just disappointed--like me. But I get it. They already have my business.

SPG Plat75/Pro here already with 83 nights/49 stays this year, on pace to break 100 in mid-June. No offer here. SPG clearly saw me as someone already coming, unfortunately.

This does make me think I might work on Hyatt Diamond starting in July. First half achieve SPG100, second half achieve Hyatt Diamond. Not too shabby. But depends on any other promos that SPG offers in the coming months.

The offer I received today as a plat 50 appears better than some of the other offers they are making. It is not a bad strategy to target offers to those customers they can influence with no opt outs than to provide a general offer. I would end up with more points for this offer than I received for the previous promotion.

On the negative side, I didn't get targeted for any promos.

On the plus side, I'll be more likely to get targeted for the next promo since I'm cancelling my upcoming stays and staying at IHG's @:-)

Ditto!

SPG Gold here as well. Checked manually a couple of days ago and got the not eligible message. Yesterday I received the two stays to earn 1 free night.

I wish I had received it earlier! I had a points stay this past weekend that I would have converted to a cash reservation.

Oh well!

I also received this offer. I'm Plat 50 with 20 stays / 25 nights YTD.
Most of my stays are at cat 1 and 2 properties.

Not a bad offer if you have a multiple night stay planned at a cat 4 or 5 property. Could be worth as many as 16k points.

I guess those who aren't getting offers should check that they receive offers from SPG. Strangely I never received an offer when I had it blocked in my profile.

That's the way it's supposed to work. +1 and I both have offers enabled, but nothing on this one (yet?).

That's 2,000 or more points per night. I'd call that pretty good.

Starwood Lurker: I have stays booked in May before registering for this promo. Will they count towards the awards? Many thanks.
