Doube Credit Towards Elite Status

I got that email and I think and my offer was to earn "Start earning double credit toward elite status qualification with every stay at any of our more than 1,200 hotels and resorts across nine distinctive brands worldwide."

A welcome special offer!

I got the same one as you. Nice offer but annoying that they send the e-mail after the start of the promotion and it is not retroactive. I am missing out on 3 stays/6 nights because of this delay.

Plat 50 with 29 nights/11 stays YTD.

Got the 6 stays 6000, 12 stays 12000, 18 stays 18000

I had nothing booked when I received the offer.

When I read it at first I laughed at how poor it was but then I read this thread...

I can probably get the 6 stays by switching hotel a lot in my upcoming trips.

[Last time I got the double stay and night credit, which was quite useful since this is a lighter travel year].

Tried all links (good thinking people! ), none of them worked. Although the website did tell me that I don't have to worry! Because there's still lots of bonuses to be earned! Perhaps they mean other chains?

I have to admit that this time, I am a little bit surprised that I (again) didn't get anything. I had 100+ in 2013, a little under 100 in 2014 but only 33 nights this year without any further bookings and haven't decided if I'll go for 50 this year.

Yeah that is a fair point. Did haven't a stay earlier this month but would be very annoying. At least it does apply to already purchased/booked stays for the duration of the promotion. I don't normally get these type of deals so excited and this will help me maintain Plat for next year.

As a Plat, I did not get anything either. I suspect however that was due to me being eligible for an earlier targeted promo (described in the other thread) and that I completed in January (25% off award stay).

Interesting enough I got the https://www.spgpromos.com/selectmemberexclusive5/ variety of the promo, but when I try to register for it, I just get the feedback:

All good things must come to an end
Sorry, this SPG® promotion has expired. Visit spg.com to check out our latest special offers and promotions.
Seems that there are some technical problems in addition to not everybody being targeted. Now to find out who to contact to get that fixed...

Greetings - Dirk

Are you sure you didn't get that message for promo 4? I think that's the one for the Q1 promo.

Same here, 2nd year as P100 and no promo! Not sure what's their logic, as I actually have had 0 stays this year! For an unrelated reason, I started using Intercontinental for the first half of the year in Toronto. Now I need to go to Pittsburgh for 6 months, so the question is whether I should continue with SPG (Westin) or move to Marriott (Renaissance)... I lost Platinum at Marriott last year, only Gold now...

It may be too late, but Marriott allows you to spend points to buy back (but not buy up) status. IIRC some of the offers were 40,000 MR points. However, Marriott Gold versus Platinum (or even PP) in the USA seems to mean almost nothing, so I wouldn't think it would be worth in for Pittsburgh. MR Gold will guarantee lounge access, if the Ren has one.

Nothing here for me and I have had a very light start to the year. I suspect my 30 room nights booked in from September probably doesn't help my cause.

C'est la vie.
