Looking for official word from the Lurkers: if the promo for 2 stays must be completed by 7/31 does that mean I need to be checked out on 7/31 or if I check in on 7/31 will that count as well? Thanks.

On the bright side, having status at multiple chains allows me to shift 20k of revenue away from SPG... It's small potatoes, however, I feel as if the only way to express displeasure and change future behavior is through changing purchasing patterns.

I am gold, my stays are at least 4 nights each time and already passed 30 nights this year. Got the 2 free nights for 4 stays by 7/31 offer. Not great giving my patterns but will probably try to claim 1 night.
I did have the misfortune of picking the only non-participating hotel in a state last time round. For this, the T&C says "over 1,200 participating Starwood hotels and resorts" and "A listing of SPG-participating hotels and resorts and a description of eligible stays and eligible rates can be found at spg.com under the program terms and conditions." So, I guess all of them participate?
It looks like IHG has the best deal for me this time round (night based) - of course that is after not participating at all in the last 2 rounds with them. You got to play hard to get to get what you want

I got the "Third stay earns 3000 + sixth stay earns another 3000 + ninth stay earns another 3000 = potential bonus 9000 star points: promo
I know for elite credit purposes, multiple rooms on a single night stay up to 3 will be considered 3 stays. Is this applicable to the promo as well?

Incorrect. You get 3 nights and 1 stay credit. Since the promo is about stays and not nights, multiple rooms for the same night will count as a single stay.

As do I. So back to the question, anyone know if this is applicable to promo purposes as well? Mr SPG Champion?

I understand that promos are intended to sway loyalty, but after not being targeted for yet again another promotion, it's more than a bit annoying. I should probably play hard to get, but they can likely tell from my stay history that I'm hooked and not likely to stray.

From T&C - An SPG Member may only earn Starpoints, Eligible Nights and Eligible Stays for up to three guest rooms during any Stay if he/she stays in one of the reserved guest rooms and pays an Eligible Rate or, for stays on or after October 1, 2011, redeems an SPG Award or an SPG Promotion Reward for all of the guest rooms.

Nada here. 20+ nights and multiple upcoming reservations but I'm notorious BRG hunter so guess they think I get enough 2k points or 20% off
