They certainly keep sending ridiculous spamish email touting the benefits of the BRG for properties I have already booked, confirmed and BRG'd.

What I think happened was that some people who received an SME earlier in the year may have thought they were targeted for SME8 when, in fact, they were not. SPG was busy changing the pages around at the time SME8 rolled out. Normally, people would get a thumbs up or down, and that would be it. However, when the changes were introduced, people who were enrolled in a different SME were taken back to that page and people who were targeted were given the thumbs up. This might have lead some people to believe that they were enrolled when they were not.

Don't think that's the case. Here is the post from May 8, long before SME8 was launched (early June).

For those who received and registered for the "6 stays, get 25% off award redemption" targeted promo, how long did it take after the 6th stay for your award to post (presumably in the "My Earned Awards" section)? It's been a week for me and nothing yet.
