This thread gives the current catering options for the Galleries First Lounge (Flounge) in LHR Terminals 3 and 5. This lounge is open to BAEC Gold and oneworld Emerald card holders. Passengers flying BA on a First ticket can also use the Concorde Room. The catering supplier was changed on 2 May 2013 to BaxterStorey. Click here to see the former thread, which covered that turbulent period.

The T3 lounge is identical to T5 in terms of food and drink options. However there is no Concorde Room in T3 so from 18:30 hrs there is a pre-flight dining option for First travellers, see here for more details.

The current catering options in the First lounge can be found in the first post in the thread, or you can click here. Currently lounge menus are not always on display in the lounge, but this link may be your best bet to see the options.

Christmas Theatre - does this mean Pantomime or that there is a song-and-dance in the kitchen to put this dried out sad old stuff on display. It looks as fresh as a pair of stale socks

I wonder if BA management how "festive" this does not look. If you are going to serve this stuff - and I quite like it when freshly cooked - for heavens sake try and make it look a little less tired.Since when has it been widely know as "Mac-and-Cheese" as opposed to Macaroni Cheese? Yes, I roam happily in Jurassic Park but I do despair of having to call a dish first seen in a recipe book in the late eighteenth century by an American name. I'll bet the cheapest cheddar going.

Taking someone for their first visit to the Flounge next week and I hoped it would be all Christmassy, so this is nice to see. They always do it pretty well, across all the lounges tbf.

Passed through the GF lounge at Heathrow on Saturday and one of the coffee machines offers oat milk as a dairy alternative in the drinks. First time I’ve noticed that.

We’re sorry you experienced problems when you travelled with us. I'm concerned to learn that the English sparkling wine was unavailable during your experience. This isn’t what you should expect, and we understand why you needed to complain.

We always welcome feedback, as it helps us understand what we need to focus on, so thank you for taking the time to let us know about this. I’ve shared your comments with my colleagues in the relevant team to help us improve our service. Once again, please accept our apologies for your experience on this trip. We hope to welcome you and your travel companion back on board soon.
Wrote back asking for clarification as to whether this was a new policy or a supply issue and received this much more informative response.

Thanks for writing back to us.
For the specific concern you have raised, I'd like to inform you that the absence was due to a temporary availability issue.
We expect it to be offered again in the near future. I can assure you that your feedback is already making a difference.
I’ve shared your comments with my colleagues in the relevant team to help us improve our service in the future. Thanks again for getting in touch with us.
So hopefully (if it isn't already), it'll be back soon

They had a hot (maybe cold) chocolate dispenser that you could add Baileys and marshmallows etc to on the end of the bar
And a wider range of cocktails to order at the bar.

Yes, that's there. My Christmas dinner was extremely dry.... they have festive sandwiches, security wearing Christmas jumpers etc etc. I'll stick to wine and my obligatory negroni....

The sausage roll thing was the nicest bit. Have that and avoid the turkey 🤣

Coming from the same team that gave us the delights of a Pimm's Aperol Spritz this summer, I might skip the Christmas themed concoctions. And as for the food... the turkey dinners are giving off staff/school canteen vibes. Embarrassing really.

I hope that when the new lounge concept comes along we do see a significant improvement but I'm not holding my breath, other than a proper bar should mean more authentic cocktail choices and mixes. IMO the cocktail bar at the LGW Club Lounge provides a better choice of drinks than the current LHR F Lounge.

In general I'd agree with you; the issue I've found at LHR is some staff are fantastic, know what they're doing and can whip up much more than is listed, and others stare vacantly into space when you ask for something they can't pour out of a tin or bottle.

LGW definitely more consistent; like they know they've got an actual bar product there and push it as a feature with the staff clued-up, rather than it just being a sideboard where you can get the same drinks as are on the app.

I can report it was drier than it looks. Drier than the Sahara in summer. It was so dry it actually sucked the saliva out of my mouth and just stuck to every internal surface. Took several glasses of wine just to clean out my mouth.

And the Pinot Noir has gone out of stock... again... They had no idea when it may be back but on Monday afternoon were down to just Two reds. Typically BA, I just thought that they could not be bothered to fetch new bottles for the counter so ordered on the app. Not only did it not turn up, neither did an apology or an offer of an alternative.

Like ice cream, mac and cheese (as long as it's not overcooked) is appropriate for all occasions.

Dear Lord! Your powers of description beggar mine own. You have actually stumbled upon that which I dislike most. Nothing is freshly cooked and sits stewing in its total lack of juice, Once upon a time, one could order fresh food but that has all been "enhanced" away. Turkey is not the easiest meat to cook and keep the breast moist - and the obsession with temperature rather than with freshness. it is a bit like those ghastly carveries where everything has been sitting since time immemorial with soggy sad vegetables that have had every bit of goodness extracted in the cooking water and slung out.

As far as the reds go, probably no one had ordered it and as you remark; no one could care less. Vile.
