I hope that when the new lounge concept comes along we do see a significant improvement but I'm not holding my breath, other than a proper bar should mean more authentic cocktail choices and mixes. IMO the cocktail bar at the LGW Club Lounge provides a better choice of drinks than the current LHR F Lounge.
In general I'd agree with you; the issue I've found at LHR is
some staff are fantastic, know what they're doing and can whip up much more than is listed, and others stare vacantly into space when you ask for something they can't pour out of a tin or bottle.
LGW definitely more consistent; like they know they've got an actual bar product there and push it as a feature with the staff clued-up, rather than it just being a sideboard where you can get the same drinks as are on the app.
