Qatar have confirmed the presence of a policy whereby if a customer booked a QSuites flight and subsequently gets an aircraft type swap can you request travel on an alternative flight, subject to availability, see post #2709 Previously this included change of routing, now it only includes changing the date on the same routing. QR issued tickets only!

From TGFlyerGirl:
there are some quite complex rules entries around seat selection - but in essence, solo travellers as a guideline won't be assigned QUADS (they are blocked off), and it's generally for 3/4 pax families. Once a QUAD has been broken up (out of necessity - for example with a couple in the E/F seats), then the rest of the quad is unlocked and can be filled with individual travellers.
They've also made 1A/2B last offered to allow airport flexibility to handle last minute requests. The other 18 windows and aisles are free for reservation as per the normal process.
The bassinet position is 11B/J (77W) and 8B/J (A359), reduced mobility seats are 2/4/6/9 B and J.
All A/E/F/K's are backward facing, all B,D,G,J's are forward facing. Total 20 Forward/22 Backward.
Capacity:
77W: J42/Y312
High density 77W: J24/Y388
77L: J42/Y230
35K: J46/Y281
359: J36/Y247

I like to check seat maps with Expert Flyer, since it differentiates between blocked and occupied seats. That's separate from the issue of changing seats.

PNR is another term for record locator or booking confirmation code. It's a short code that uniquely identifies a booking record. You need the QR PNR and the passenger name to access a record on most airline web sites. If you book with another airline or a travel agent, there may be multiple PNRs, one for the booking airline or agency, one for QR, and one for any other airlines in the booking.

QR blocks all center Qsuite seats so they can be allocated to parties of two or more passengers.

Lounge access
As Qatar are using galleries first lounge for business passengers currently flying out of Heathrow T5 does anyone know if there will be access to Concorde lounge for first passengers on the a380 service starting in December?

Just noticed one of my QR flights has changed to a Q suite airframe from a 787-8. Looking forward to it although know the chances of a change again something to expect. Haven’t flown QR J for many years so looking forward to whatever seat I get to be honest (chances of lockdowns and cancellations aside). Hopefully be trying a mix of seats on this trip, 787-8, 787-9 suite and Q suite.

So I thought I booked my bucket list Qsuite flight from BOS-DOH for Dec 28 but am just now finding out about all the A759 issues and it turns out my flight is not scheduled to be Qsuites. I'm super bummed.
From the Wiki, it looks like there are 10 A759s listed of which only 7 are flying based on flightradar24 searches. Of those 7, only 3 have been to BOS in the past week (once each).
Is there a site I can monitor to see what is scheduled for BOS for the next few weeks to keep an eye out for changes? Heck, I might even consider moving my flight to JFK, PHL or IAD. I'd just be concerned of an equipment change at either of those airports if I did that (plus I'd need for award space to open, I'm booked thru AA)

Successfully was able to book business class to Maldives using AA points. I used the Record Locator on Malaysian Airlines to choose, however all the middle seats are blocked off. My fiancée and I are traveling together under the same record locator so I’m not sure why this would be the case. All seats along the windows are open.
Edit: Solved

Jut worth bearing in mind as I've seen rumours of them completely disabling E/F to keep social distancing, but only on flights that are leaving DOH, not arriving in (weird!)

I've seen zero evidence of any such thing. QR always blocks the center seats of Qsuite aircraft as those are reserved for parties of two or more. Where did you see these rumors?

So I am on a flight I was expecting to be qsuites but due to the a359 groundings it was swapped for a non qsuites plane. It was booked as an award via AA.
Qr says if it was booked with them, they'd move me to a qsuite flight, but because it was booked with aa, I'd have to call aa as they aren't able to move an AA booked flight. Of course the issue is aa can do nothing as there are no awards open on any other flight anywhere at the time we are flying (Dec 28).
Any idea how to navigate this scenario?
