Qatar have confirmed the presence of a policy whereby if a customer booked a QSuites flight and subsequently gets an aircraft type swap can you request travel on an alternative flight, subject to availability, see post #2709 Previously this included change of routing, now it only includes changing the date on the same routing. QR issued tickets only!
Qatar Airways confirms new business class seat

A video of the new Q Suite can be seen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yhZDsctiZg

Photos of the new Q Suite can be seen here - http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/28007634-post109.html

From TGFlyerGirl:
there are some quite complex rules entries around seat selection - but in essence, solo travellers as a guideline won't be assigned QUADS (they are blocked off), and it's generally for 3/4 pax families. Once a QUAD has been broken up (out of necessity - for example with a couple in the E/F seats), then the rest of the quad is unlocked and can be filled with individual travellers.

They've also made 1A/2B last offered to allow airport flexibility to handle last minute requests. The other 18 windows and aisles are free for reservation as per the normal process.

The bassinet position is 11B/J (77W) and 8B/J (A359), reduced mobility seats are 2/4/6/9 B and J.

All A/E/F/K's are backward facing, all B,D,G,J's are forward facing. Total 20 Forward/22 Backward.

Capacity:
77W: J42/Y312
High density 77W: J24/Y388
77L: J42/Y230
35K: J46/Y281
359: J36/Y247

Which routes have Qsuites?

I use Expert Flyer configuration alerts. In the seat map view, there's a button to create a configuration change, or you can create one manually from the "create new configuration alert" item on the left menu. Every time you get an alert, go in to EF and set it again, as the configuration may change multiple times.

I'll answer for completeness. Firstly, I'm seriously praying nothing changes, and I cant see a reason for it to do so with travel at this time.

As for seat, we were indeed booked into 9 E and F, so this answers that question. My only issue here, is that surely then it should be first come first served, i booked 6 months in advance and even the double J cabin wasn't even half full with only one other set of EF booked. QR gave taken the easy option here to just move, but I'll get over it, DG is not the end of the world, it's just annoying and bad CS.

I'm in full price J, so no reason to be amended we leave LHR on 008 and return on 009, the latter has already changed to A380 once they went back into service and that's fine as we've never flow the 380 so happy with that. 672 and 677 have been long standing Q Suite flights, its the plane sandwiches in the middle that is usually an A320
I suppose that you now have a subscription to ExpertFlyer. Very useful to monitor changes of ac or pax releasing some seats.

What you will get more than one month ahead is a Russian roulette .
QR676 is now mostly scheduled with old 77W. QR672 changes a lot. If you look in the week around your flight, you get Qsuites 42J, 24J and old config.
And when you board the plane, you might be surprised.

Regarding seat allocation when there is an ac change: I believe that all airlines automatic systems tend to minimize seat assignments changes. Hence, they keep people at their seat numbers if they exist in the new config. If they applied a first book/first served, they would have to individually ask each pax what is now their new preferred seats. They would have, for example, to move people from 3E&F to other seats., etc... Lots of disruption.

You can't see a reason for further changes. Unfortunately Omicron is leading to restrictions on travel by many countries and loads are going to be lighter. Hence the risk of flights "consolidation". QR has proved to be the most reliable airline, but ...
Anyway, check the seat map frequently. Some pax booked in 3 or 5 E&F might change their travel plans or the config could change.

What are the chances that QR 737 - Doha to San Francisco becomes non-QSuite. It has flown the A350-1000 always in last month or so but just wondering. Got a trip planned on Jan 27th.

Probably extremely unlikely due to the distance and aircrafts ranges. But never say never

Since 22nd September the flight has been exclusively A350-1000 operated (except one day it was a QSuite -900), so as long as it stays a 1000 you're guaranteed suites of Q.

It seems A7-BBF (77L) hasn't flown lately...could it be that it's getting refurbed at the moment?

Given that’s the World Cup, I doubt we’ll be seeing any J award availability anytime soon. It looks to me like QR isn’t releasing any J awards in that timeframe, at least through AA or AS. Not sure about using QR miles as I can’t seem to do an award search.

I'm looking to travel in early November (11/3/22-11/12/22) SFO-MLE. I can find Q Suite availability SFO-DOH roundtrip but not DOH-MLE so AA doesn't allow me to book with miles -- only Economy. Does anyone know if I call AA to book if they will allow me to book Qsuite SFO-DOH roundtrip and then economy DOH-MLE roundtrip on a single itinerary or at least as a married one-way itinerary?

Yes, they allow it. You may have to book it as two one way tickets rather than a RT. You’re just taking a voluntary downgrade.

Anyone had luck calling Qatar's US customer service line? How long were you on hold? Was on hold for more than 40 minutes twice and gave up.

I cant add any more value than to assure you that you are not alone. I did the exact same and then reverted to FB messenger (I don't have Twitter), eventually I got a reply after 4 days and it was a one line response that added zero value whatsoever, so I had to ask more questions, the cycle then repeated 3 times before I gave up. Awful experience.

On a flight from US to DOH in a qsuite, do you refer an overnight or day time flight, and why? I am trying to decide between 9PM or 11AM departure from JFK. Thanks!

Daytime! That way you get to enjoy the entire flight awake!
