Qatar have confirmed the presence of a policy whereby if a customer booked a QSuites flight and subsequently gets an aircraft type swap can you request travel on an alternative flight, subject to availability, see post #2709 Previously this included change of routing, now it only includes changing the date on the same routing. QR issued tickets only!

That´s called bad luck, quite disappointing from my point of view....

I agree, quite disappointing... QR doesn't realize that there's an audience that book such flights for their hard product. Then again, could be possible the Reg# that is supposed to operate this route is temporarily out of service.

In other news, I'm closely following QR058 for the month of June 2019. Some Updates:

13/06/19 has changed from Non-QSuites to Qsuites
From 01/06/19 - 12/06/19, only 33% of QR058 Flights have had Qsuites
Since 01/06/19, no flights on this route have been downgraded to the old configuration
On Average, for every 3 days there is an Old configuration, there is at least one day (Max 2 days) with a Qsuites configuration.

I thought 161 was operated daily but Flightradar24 shows the flight being operated every 2nd/3rd day depending on day of week. Still, all flights have had Qsuites. Would expect that esp on a red eye.

May 31st QR058 was a change from Qsuite to non Qsuite - I know it, as i was affected, unfortunately. We did OLCI on Qsuite couple seat in Quad first row, but on the day of departure it turned out to be the old config.

Yes, quite disappointing as we did plan to let our 11 month old daughter sleep in between us..that did not work with the old configuration. Nevertheless she was a perfect Baby - only smiling and absolutely no crying!
As usual, there was NO notification or information at all from side of QR. I did check it on the day of departure in the morning (or maybe it was the day before in the evening, I do not remember it exactly anymore, but it was after the online check in) with expertflyer.
This Sunday I will take QR059 from DOH to MUC, guess what yesterday happened - equipment change to old configuration, so 4 out of 4 flights between MUC and DOH did change (within 2 bookings)....

When there is an equipment change to old configuration, is it worth ringing Qatar office in UK to see if is possible to change flight to a Qsuites aircraft?
Traveling on discounted business fare "R" and its LHR to KUL via DOH. Selected QR848 for DOH to KUL because it was Qsuites at time of booking but its now changed to the old 2-2-2 configuration.

I tried calling (premium number as well as reservations) with no luck.

Contacted @QRSupport on Twitter who responded that in the event of an aircraft change you are entitled to one change free of charge. They sometimes only reply a day after you send a message but three days after my first message I had my new tickets.

Seems like people have more luck contacting @QRSupport via twitter instead of calling. Also heard contacting the Doha office is far better than contacting your local office. Only thing is that its crazy expensive to contact Qatar via Skype (Around $0.49/minute...).
