Qatar have confirmed the presence of a policy whereby if a customer booked a QSuites flight and subsequently gets an aircraft type swap can you request travel on an alternative flight, subject to availability, see post #2709 Previously this included change of routing, now it only includes changing the date on the same routing. QR issued tickets only!
Qatar Airways confirms new business class seat

A video of the new Q Suite can be seen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yhZDsctiZg

Photos of the new Q Suite can be seen here - http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/28007634-post109.html

From TGFlyerGirl:
there are some quite complex rules entries around seat selection - but in essence, solo travellers as a guideline won't be assigned QUADS (they are blocked off), and it's generally for 3/4 pax families. Once a QUAD has been broken up (out of necessity - for example with a couple in the E/F seats), then the rest of the quad is unlocked and can be filled with individual travellers.

They've also made 1A/2B last offered to allow airport flexibility to handle last minute requests. The other 18 windows and aisles are free for reservation as per the normal process.

The bassinet position is 11B/J (77W) and 8B/J (A359), reduced mobility seats are 2/4/6/9 B and J.

All A/E/F/K's are backward facing, all B,D,G,J's are forward facing. Total 20 Forward/22 Backward.

Capacity:
77W: J42/Y312
High density 77W: J24/Y388
77L: J42/Y230
35K: J46/Y281
359: J36/Y247

Equipment swaps are QR's trademark. But looking at QR58 last 7 flights only 1 was Q-suites. So definitely wouldn't count on it and then just maybe you'll be in for a nice surprise..

I see though that on 7th June it's Q-suites scheduled. Still.. you'll only be sure when it's at the gate.

Great... keeping a close eye on this one... Also assuming there's no compensation for equipment change...

I've done a search but can't find a guide to best/worst Q suite seats on the A350. Is there such a guide or does it matter (other than which way you want to face)?

I've nabbed 1K but wondering if there's any galley noise I should be aware of?

I just finished QR58 last Friday and it was swapped from Qsuites to non QSuite after I’ve done the OLCI. It was a last minute equipment change.
For my next flight flight end of June I took QR60 and guess what, it changed to non QSuite a few days after booking :-(
So all in all your evaluation is right - ex MUC you cannot say when and if a QSuite will be there... :-(

Oh man that's rough... I don't know if I should change the flight and depart from another airport or I could just risk it. Terrible QR advertises this route at the top for having Q-Suites SMH. Let me know your thoughts.

Ridiculous. Did they notify you via email? Or did you happen to be checking flight info?

Looks like QR57 for 4 Jun is being flown on A7-BEK with Q-suites and assuming QR58 for 4 Jun will be on the same tail#. Going to do some basic Business 101 data collection with %flights on Q-suite equipped flights. Will share my findings weekly

Realized that it isn't worth my while to go through the hassle and change my flights just so I can POSSIBLY fly on a Q-suite-equipped plane... Will keep my origin as MUC and hope for the best. Will be collecting data on all QR58 flights daily.

Nothing wrong with manually checking your bookings as often as you like, of course. But a good option, for those who have an ExpertFlyer subscription, is to set an Equipment Change alert for your flight. Don't forget to re-arm it every time it alerts you, since multiple equipment swaps are common with QR.

If you use EF, setting an alert can be helpful. I have had many, many QR flights get swapped between Qsuite and non-Qsuite, often right up until departure. I've never been notified by QR of this, but EF alerts do work.

However, we are talking about QR and you NEVER can be sure to get the advertised equipment, so even you would change to another airport, that would not be a guaranty for not getting a change in equipment.
On my last rip 3 out of 3 Qsuites (one were the QR060 on 31.05) were changed last minute to non Qsuite. I selected the schedule carefully for Qsuite, as the couple seat would had allow us to let our baby daughter (11 month) to sleep comfortable between us....however, she was a great baby and did not cry even once!
Maybe in September it will work...or not...letīs see

A7-BBF is out of maintenance and operating QR654/655 (DOH-CMB-DOH) today. Still showing 2-2-2 and 42J on ExpertFlyer.
