Qatar have confirmed the presence of a policy whereby if a customer booked a QSuites flight and subsequently gets an aircraft type swap can you request travel on an alternative flight, subject to availability, see post #2709 Previously this included change of routing, now it only includes changing the date on the same routing. QR issued tickets only!
Qatar Airways confirms new business class seat

A video of the new Q Suite can be seen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yhZDsctiZg

Photos of the new Q Suite can be seen here - http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/28007634-post109.html

From TGFlyerGirl:
there are some quite complex rules entries around seat selection - but in essence, solo travellers as a guideline won't be assigned QUADS (they are blocked off), and it's generally for 3/4 pax families. Once a QUAD has been broken up (out of necessity - for example with a couple in the E/F seats), then the rest of the quad is unlocked and can be filled with individual travellers.

They've also made 1A/2B last offered to allow airport flexibility to handle last minute requests. The other 18 windows and aisles are free for reservation as per the normal process.

The bassinet position is 11B/J (77W) and 8B/J (A359), reduced mobility seats are 2/4/6/9 B and J.

All A/E/F/K's are backward facing, all B,D,G,J's are forward facing. Total 20 Forward/22 Backward.

Capacity:
77W: J42/Y312
High density 77W: J24/Y388
77L: J42/Y230
35K: J46/Y281
359: J36/Y247

You can actually request it via social Media ( QR's Facebook with your PNR) I've done this when I wanted to book a quad for my family.

It doesn't seem consistent.......we have booked well in advance for a February vacation to Cambodia...Flying Qatar from Montreal to Doha to Bangkok and the same coming home through Montreal. Myself and my wife and I have been able to choose any seats we wish.....and trust me, I have changed it multiple times already because I keep changing my mind. The only flight that is not showing Q suites is our return from BKK to DOH - I believe it is the 21:00 flight on A350? I would imagine by that time it might be changed to Q suites.

I’d think it would be because of the much stronger North Atlantic and arctic headwinds, not because of the cold, but what do I know 🤔

As has been repeatedly stated in this thread, quad allocations are sometimes blocked for self-service and sometimes not; when blocked they can usually be allocated by calling QR or by tweeting them. Also, when quads are blocked in advance for self-service, often they are unblocked as it gets closer to flight date.

Any information whether AKL is flying with Qsuites as planned from 15 May alternate days and from 30 May everyday? Whats the status of refurbishing the last two B77L (A7-BBF / BBH)?

I noticed A7-BAV went to Rome on 14 May with an odd flight number (QR3251) and is still there as of today:

Plane is there for maintenance. If it stays around a month then it could be for Q Suite.

AKL seems to be alternate but it's too early to tell. BBF is doing QR11 to LHR today and BBH AKL.

Qatar did promise the 1st June for the last 77L to 77K QSuite conversion in this article in the Auckland paper NZ Herald.

However two a/c BBF and BBH have been on a regular rotation to Auckland. They haven't been out of service for longer than a day or two, so I'm certain they have not been converted. With Qsuite conversion taking 3+ weeks and Auckland the last destination to receive continuous Qsuite, there is no certainty for another month or more. Until then you could get lucky with another a/c turning up at 5 to 10 day intervals. The a/c rego is not known until the day of departure from Doha.

From 01 June IAH will get the A350-1000 instead of the 77K. The two freed up QSuites 777-200LR will then be deployed to AKL.

787?

Any word on 787 Qsuite? I understand QR is taking deliveries of new 787s, with presumably 1-2-1 J seats.

It needs a different design for QSuite as the plane body is narrower than 350 or 777. Not heard any rumours on a 787 design being ready here as yet I think.

I ended up in 1A and loved the seat. Great for sitting lounging and sleeping ^

Back when Qsuite was announced, QR said there would be a different design for the 787 due to narrower cabin, but it's been a long time, and QR continue to get 787s delivered. I realize it takes time to certify any new aircraft interior component, but I would have thought we'd have heard something if QR is still intending to have Qsuite on 787s.

Hi all,

I will be on a Qsuite flight to AKL in July so does 8A or 10A on B77L have a window seat by any chance? I mostly fly on both Qsuite B77W and A359/1 aircrafts but am not familiar with Qsuite seats on B77L. And also, does B77L have Super Wi-Fi by any chance?

Please let me know. Your help is hugely appreciated. Thanks!
