Qatar have confirmed the presence of a policy whereby if a customer booked a QSuites flight and subsequently gets an aircraft type swap can you request travel on an alternative flight, subject to availability, see post #2709 Previously this included change of routing, now it only includes changing the date on the same routing. QR issued tickets only!
Qatar Airways confirms new business class seatA video of the new Q Suite can be seen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yhZDsctiZg
Photos of the new Q Suite can be seen here - http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/28007634-post109.html
From TGFlyerGirl:
there are some quite complex rules entries around seat selection - but in essence, solo travellers as a guideline won't be assigned QUADS (they are blocked off), and it's generally for 3/4 pax families. Once a QUAD has been broken up (out of necessity - for example with a couple in the E/F seats), then the rest of the quad is unlocked and can be filled with individual travellers.
They've also made 1A/2B last offered to allow airport flexibility to handle last minute requests. The other 18 windows and aisles are free for reservation as per the normal process.
The bassinet position is 11B/J (77W) and 8B/J (A359), reduced mobility seats are 2/4/6/9 B and J.
All A/E/F/K's are backward facing, all B,D,G,J's are forward facing. Total 20 Forward/22 Backward.
Capacity:
77W: J42/Y312
High density 77W: J24/Y388
77L: J42/Y230
35K: J46/Y281
359: J36/Y247

Just received this in an email from Qatar
Our journeys have always been exclusive, but now – with the introduction of Qsuite on our flights to Auckland, New Zealand has just got closer.
Experience a new level of luxury in your own private Qsuite, offering ambient mood lighting, fully lie-flat beds and generous storage space.
Fly Qsuite to New Zealand and arrive inspired. Treat yourself to something extraordinary.
I wonder what the situation would be if one were to book and then find no Qsuite

I'm a QR / QSuites fan but ...
After flying 5 sectors on 2 variants of QSuites equipped aircraft (A35K/77L) for both ULH (JFK/LAX) & regional (SIN-DOH-SIN) - here are my thoughts :
QSUITES pros
1. Beautiful cabin with thoughtful details, everything looks new & well maintained, and the lavatories are always kept clean & restocked with amenities (though the paper cups for mouth rinsing tend to run out quickly). I was absolutely floored the first time I stepped into the Qsuite cabin ^
2. Seats are comfortable, especially the dim light switches around you - great for the groggy "I just woke up" kinda feeling ...
3. Privacy is great if you are a private person (like Mr. Fortunate, the travel blogger) - I'm not & it doesn't bother me when I sleep with the suite door open.
In fact, I prefer it that way so that when I wake up to pee, I don't bang into the door or accidentally pull the emergency door release handle and the door will fall on me
But the cabin crew would usually close the door for me while I sleep.
QSUITES cons
1. Partition, partition partition ... inherent of the characteristic of the suite itself, reducing personal space, especially for tall pax with long limbs (I am 6'1")
I felt like my arms & elbows are often knocking into some part of the suite. The cabin itself & aisle also seems a bit tight, & it's more evident on the 77L.
I've not tried the 77W but I was told by the cabin crew it's a bit wider.
2. Small-ish foot cubby though not tiny but again, for taller pax with long legs it becomes an issue. I sleep on my side or I raise & bend my knees.
Must be quite a sight for passing pax when they see me thru' the open suite door when I am sleeping.
FYI - I can over & look into your suite if I wanted to even with your doors closed
3. Dining tray table is huge & has to be fully opened for main meal service, & no way to slide away or close the table w/o removing the table cloth, cutlery & plates.
So if you have to visit the bathroom, do it before dining or else wait 1-1.5 hours after meal service to end on a fully loaded cabin.
4. Head-rest protrudes quite a bit while in bed mode so the big pillow puts a strain on my neck, I use the smaller white pillow instead (Today is a GOOD DAY)
The mattress topper is a good addition while sleeping as the seat is quite firm.
5. If you have big feet & big shoes - you may have a problem storing them as the storage space by the side isn't that big. When there is an empty seat behind or next to me, I use that for sleeping & my original seat for dining/shoes out on the floor - usually tucked away in a corner, stacked on top of each other.
Neither a pro nor a con but when the double bed opens up, it's super awesome for a solo pax to sleep in (I've tried it once on SIN-DOH, I slept like a baby w/o waking up once until it was time for the pre arrival meal). For a couple, the foot cubby remains separate so no playing footsies while sleeping ..
QATAM A350 / QR 77W non Qsuites (off topic but related comparison)
Before QR operated their own A350 on the MUC-DOH route, I flew on the LATAM operated A350, and also recently, the 77W CMB-DOH
Oddly enough - looking back now, those were some of the most comfortable seats (yes, even in 2-2-2 config) I've flown in because of the open seating plan & full forward facing seats
Overall, still an awesome product, & definitely world class - no other airline out there has a better marketing / PR spin on their business class seats than QR right now.
I am already looking forward to my next trip in Qsuites next Jan. but until then, my nos. 2 & 3 airline will have to tide me thru' (SQ/CX)

Also, super random question here. I just became One World Sapphire. I'll be at the airport with a friend (He's going to a different destination) when departing Doha. I'll be flying QSuites while he will unfortunately be flying Eco, but his final destination is only 2 hours flight time. Can I guest him in to the Al Mourjan Business Lounge by any chance? Has anyone had luck guesting non-Biz pax into the AM Lounge?

QR059 16.06.2019 changed to Non Qsuite today.
So out of (heavy advertised as dedicated Qsuite route) 4 flights between MUC and DOH, 4 (!!) did change to non Qsuite ;-)
Thatīs called bad luck, quite disappointing from my point of view....
