Qatar have confirmed the presence of a policy whereby if a customer booked a QSuites flight and subsequently gets an aircraft type swap can you request travel on an alternative flight, subject to availability, see post #2709 Previously this included change of routing, now it only includes changing the date on the same routing. QR issued tickets only!
Qatar Airways confirms new business class seatA video of the new Q Suite can be seen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yhZDsctiZg

From TGFlyerGirl:
there are some quite complex rules entries around seat selection - but in essence, solo travellers as a guideline won't be assigned QUADS (they are blocked off), and it's generally for 3/4 pax families. Once a QUAD has been broken up (out of necessity - for example with a couple in the E/F seats), then the rest of the quad is unlocked and can be filled with individual travellers.
They've also made 1A/2B last offered to allow airport flexibility to handle last minute requests. The other 18 windows and aisles are free for reservation as per the normal process.
The bassinet position is 11B/J (77W) and 8B/J (A359), reduced mobility seats are 2/4/6/9 B and J.
All A/E/F/K's are backward facing, all B,D,G,J's are forward facing. Total 20 Forward/22 Backward.
Capacity:
77W: J42/Y312
High density 77W: J24/Y388
77L: J42/Y230
35K: J46/Y281
359: J36/Y247

I have never flew with Qatar airline before and I am looking to book 2 award tickets with AA miles for 2023. Not sure if this is a right place to ask my questions. If not, Mod, please move it to the right thread.
I hope some expert here help answering the following :
a) For the QR075 ( Boeing 777-ER300), from Male to Doha, is it a fully lie - flat seat.
b) For flight # QR0741 ( Airbus A350-1000) from Doha to LAX, is it a Q-suites flight or not.
I read the wiki section here and it does not listed QR741 as Q-suites flight. However, I check with Qatar 's agent and was told this flight has a closed Q-suites in business class. If anyone recently fly the route Doha -Los Angeles, please confirm it.
b) If the flight from Male to Doha has ~ 2 hrs waiting for connection , will that be enough make a connection flight, without worrying to miss a flight from Doha to US.
And will passenger with an award ticket is allowed to access a business lounge at Doha airport.
c) Please advise and thank you.

b) A350-1000 has Q-suites. That said equipment can always change.
b) 2 hours is generally enough, however delays happen. You would want to make sure both flights are on one booking. If there would be a delay the airline would manage the solution. If you are on separate tickets you will lose the connecting flight as a no show.

Thanks, that's what I was afraid of. It's from CDG, so award availability is non-existent right now. Probably not worth my time and energy to even try and get things changed as I also have a lap infant ticket purchased through QR tied to the AA award.

Hi, I thought I'd share my experience rebooking after flights changed from Q Suite to standard business class (twice).
When changes occur there are 2 different emails that get sent out, one with the subject "Changes to your QatarAirways flight timings" and one with subject "Important: A change in Business Class on your flight".
The "flight timings" email can mean there has been an equipment change but does not make Qatar support teams aware of this. We tried contacting QR by email, phone and twitter to arrange changes and they were able to help with small changes (date/time) due to the flexible booking policy, but not any route changes. The support team could not confirm Q Suite change at this point despite route/seat map information.
30 days before the flight that had changed from Q Suite departs we received the second email with the subject "Important: A change in Business Class on your flight" that states in the email that Q Suite is not available on the booked flight. In this instance when contacting support they can see the flight changes and help further.
After a long phone call we were able to change to a destination airport in a different country with no fees to pay. For reference we booked P class.

QR763 DOH-YUL yesterday — last-minute swap of Qsuites to our first experience of what is apparently called standard business class. It reminded me of flying in the 1990s. No notification or opportunity to change flights.

it seems these last minute switch of Qsuite is quite common. i am about to fly QR for the first time. had planned 3 flights out of 4 in Qsuites from Paris to Jakarta, and one B787 suite. Ended up with only one Qsuite and one old business 2-2-2. Was able to change dates to get 2 Qsuite segments but seeing these change happening last minute, i hope it does not happen to me as well.

Hello,
I'm pretty new to Qatar Airways and also this would be my first business class experience. I tried to read a lot of posts in this thread from 2019 to 2022 but I still feel confused as I don't have enough background knowledge therefore would like to ask some questions.
1) I'm trying to book 2 award business tickets directly through Qatar Airways using Avios. In this case is there a way for me to find out what business code I would get?
2) Would award tickets booked directly through Qatar Airways still be eligible for the one time free change in case the equipment change happens? Reading posts in this thread, I think even if the equipment change occurs, I thought it would be smart to just wait until the last minute before trying to change my itinerary. What do you guys think?
I would really appreciate if anyone experienced could help me with these questions!

3 of us traveling. Would like two of us in center seats and 3rd in window next to us. I have enough points to book 1.5 flights. Would it make a difference whether I book all 3 flights through the chase portal vs 1 through chase portal and 2 on QR site? Thanks in advance!
I'm wanting to move Chase points to Avios for some Q suites booking. Need to book 4 tickets and I see at least 2 award tickets in biz class for one way. How would I book this? Also see a route where I can book 4 one ways using Avios and then pay cash on return. But I don't want to pay the one way fare rates when trying to mix and match award bookings though. Never booked Qatar before.

I’m trying to make sure my family of 4 are in a Quad on the 777 but the seat map got me confused and then seat guru made it worse. Do rows 7 and 8 make a quad?
Is it better to book to couples in F and E and forget the quad?

Seats 1EF and 2DG make up a quad, as do 3EF and 4DG, etc.
