What sort of meals can I expect when flying Long-Haul Business?
The Business Class meals served are of a far higher quality than those served by most other airlines.
This thread contains photos of actual Menus and/or Wine Lists as well as photos of the food. Discussion about Business Class food is to be found at business class food discussion

What is the menu for my flight?
Look at the index below and see if there is a recent menu for your flight.

There is no menu for my flight. What do I do?
If you are unable to find a menu relevant to your flight, find a QR flight which departs at a similar time to yours, and of a similar length.

Can I rely upon these menus being available when I fly?
No for a number of reasons
1 QR change their menus frequently, so you may be in luck and find the specific options for your flight.
2 Where there is more than one flight a day to a destination the menu varies according to the time of day. Who wants breakfast on an evening flight?
3 Menus may vary from destination to destination due to flight time, number of meals served, local culture etc.

The 2017 thread contains the newest menu for each flight for 2016 for continuity.
The 2016 menus can all be seen here.
Menus from earlier are mostly using another meals service system and cannot be used to understand the current menus.

Illustrated Menu index.
The index below contains per Destination, Flight numbers and Route, Type of Document (Menu or Wines), Year and month it was served and the post number or link to the post in this thread.

Last time I did the flight leaving London at about 9am it was lunch and 'light bites'. Hope that's helpful

SilverChris the Wiki suggests that you find similar flights and times from other destinations. If you look at say AMS you will get a very good idea what will be served on your flight from BRU.

The menu on this flight is almost exactly the same as my DOH-AKL flight on 11/02/17 (we had an extra lunch menu and few more options within light bites).

This suggests that someone flying Europe-Auckland return will receive the same menu on DOH-AKL and DOH-Europe?

I did look at the ex-Europe menus but most of the flights were earlier in the morning or late-afternoon. It was hard to find a comparable 9-ish am departure which IME is a grey area when it comes to meals on other airlines. But thank you for your helpful reply.

I have to say that, of all the airlines I frequent commonly, I find QR to have the most limited range of options rotating across its J class menus. There are some dishes I've had at least 6 times in a single month (the Arabic spiced chicken with machboos sauce springs immediately to mind!)

I've noticed that this is particularly a problem if you take a lot of QR flights in a month on similar routings between EU-DOH and DOH-Asia. When my flights are spread out over a number of months, the choices do differ, but they are often only slightly altered permutations on previous dishes. So the flavours are pretty similar.

Fortunately, I find the food broadly excellent (especially the middle eastern options) so I'm not all that concerned by the repetition - but it is something I always notice.

crazyanglaisy QR have introduced common menus for flights to and from a number of destinations. These region or Area menus as I prefer to call them are common for a number of destinations.

For example the DOH-AUS menus are common for all flights from DOH to Australia. AUS-DOH from Australia to DOH.

in the http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/qatar...rea-menus.html thread I have identified three such areas AUS, EUR and CHN. There are many more.

For the less frequent flier this makes sense because they can identify their meals easily. For a frequent flier as yourself it is not so good because of the repeat menus.

Menus are changed frequently as you have experienced.

Qatar doesn't fly DOH-AUS. If it did, it would presumably be using menus common for all flights from DOH to Texas* (they do fly to IAH and DFW), or even the whole USA.

* AUS is the airport code for Austin, Texas. DOH is the airport code for Doha, not the country code for Qatar.

And DOH-AUS is what QR use to identify menus for flights to Australia! It is an area description not an airport!

I flew HEL-DOH-SIN in January and HEL-DOH-SGN in February and it seems that I had exactly same menus on both months. Doesn't Qatar rotate the menus monthly?

DALtoAAL if you look at post 52 of this thread you will find an explanation. QR change menus frequently! On some routes it is monthly and quarterly on other routes. I am sure that there are other frequencies as well.

Well I hope they keep it for a while. I was beside myself when I saw paneer tikka on the menu. It's my hands-down favorite meal down here on the ground.
