What sort of meals can I expect when flying Long-Haul Business?
The Business Class meals served are of a far higher quality than those served by most other airlines.
This thread contains photos of actual Menus and/or Wine Lists as well as photos of the food. Discussion about Business Class food is to be found at business class food discussion

What is the menu for my flight?
Look at the index below and see if there is a recent menu for your flight.

There is no menu for my flight. What do I do?
If you are unable to find a menu relevant to your flight, find a QR flight which departs at a similar time to yours, and of a similar length.

Can I rely upon these menus being available when I fly?
No for a number of reasons
1 QR change their menus frequently, so you may be in luck and find the specific options for your flight.
2 Where there is more than one flight a day to a destination the menu varies according to the time of day. Who wants breakfast on an evening flight?
3 Menus may vary from destination to destination due to flight time, number of meals served, local culture etc.

The 2017 thread contains the newest menu for each flight for 2016 for continuity.
The 2016 menus can all be seen here.
Menus from earlier are mostly using another meals service system and cannot be used to understand the current menus.

Illustrated Menu index.
The index below contains per Destination, Flight numbers and Route, Type of Document (Menu or Wines), Year and month it was served and the post number or link to the post in this thread.

I think that Skunker meant is that one would assume that, given the strict level of checking in the US, American origins would be on the exempt list (still possible as occasional checks are carried out on some flights at random regardless of the origin).
That is what I meant. I've transited DOH 7-8 times, but that was the first time originating from the US. The transfer screening is fairly laughable at times. Yes, the X-ray bags, but some times there isn't someone watching the metal detectors as people stream through.

Options, plural.

Seems they veered between no beef at all on your flight, while two things with beef (both entrees and light options) on my flight.

(Not that I noticed that before you mentioned it, because I'm pesco-vegetarian, so I skipped over all that while on the flight.)

You weren't by any chance flying on a Friday, were you? (I was flying on a Wednesday.) Due to some religious eating restrictions/habits, I might understand them substituting fish for beef (on the entree) on a Friday flight.

No, it was Tuesday 3/28. There was a salt beef breakfast option.

While was given the choice to eat whenever you want, it doesn't mean you can still have whatever you want. Soup ran out half way thru on the flight, no more blue cheese.
I think etihad does better catering wise than qatar.

Soup was lentil - not savoured as it's not a favourite! Otherwise no problem with choices or timings.

The running out thing has happened to me on several recent flights - I suspect QR may have reduced food loadings.

This didn't seem to be a problem in row 2 of QR920 to AKL this week. Whilst Mrs Map and I only had a couple of meals, one set of travellers managed at least four meals, if not five, during the course of the flight!

I just hope that on the return in a couple of weeks, we can enjoy two or three good meals with all choices intact.
