That might be why Thompson/JDV/Commune/Pritzker has hired her away from Kimpton this week! http://www.heraldonline.com/2012/11/...-appoints.html

For those that delighted in Kimpton's cutomer first operating style you just might want to take a looksie

That is a big time bummer. She is amazing imo. REALLY gets what customer service is all about! Congratulations to Ms. Nikki!

I just recently made Inner Circle Status and recieved a warm welcome email. It requested any special preferences such as a favorite beverage or snack that I love to enjoy.

What have most people found to be the appropriate request here - are we talking about things they already have in the honor bar, or is this above and beyond that... I mean my favorite beverage at the end of the workday is a good single malt scotch, but I doubt that is what they are looking for... right?

Ask for pretty much anything. I have my profile set to bottle of riesling, pretzels, grapes and proscuitto/charcuterie. Sometimes I change them around to get some candy or chips. You can even name brands if you want for the snacks. I've gotten the bottle of wine at all properties except the Argonaut and have always gotten at least two of the snack items. I know somewhere in this thread there has been discussion of liquor and it's hard to come by. But I'm willing to bet if you ask for it you might be able to get a pint or at least a few minis. If they have the minis in the mini-bar, I don't see why they can't give you a few for one of your amenities.

There is obviously a budget attached and I'm sure if you stay there more often or paid more for your room they will be apt to give you more.

Welcome to Inner Circle! So excited to have you in the program. We encourage everyone to get as specific with their preferences as possible in their online account. The more a hotel knows about your preferences, the better able they are to provide a great welcome experience. We may not always be able to accommodate a specific request or brand, but we'll always try to our best to put a smile on your face upon arrival.

If there is anything the team or I can do to make your Kimpton experience even better, just let us know. We love feedback and reading about your experiences!

Best,
Maggie

This may be a rookie question, so bear with me, but when you reach inner circle, do you lose your raid the mini bar credit?

In unrelated news, we spent the 4th of July at the Donovan House and really enjoyed it. We took advantage of the Birthday Special and the hotel was definitely unique! The staff was incredibly polite and took care of all the standard In Touch hospitality. If you want a cool hotel in Downtown DC, I'd highly recommend it.

I have my preferences set to include things that are pretty specific, in part because of nut allergies. I also have preferences listed for my dogs, Empress Cobaka and Generalissimo Geno. I'd set your preferences for fairly specific, but figure that brand may not always be something they can accomplish.

Mr. Kipper gets to experience his first Kimpton next week, as we're headed out to PHL for a concert and to celebrate our anniversary. It's the first time I'll have the dogs with me at a Kimpton, so I'm very excited to see what they do, considering the dogs, our anniversary, and Mr. Kipper's first stay.

For the first few months I was IC, I was really confused. Some hotels would give me the card and remove the charge. Some would not give me the card and either remove the charge automatically or remove it after a call. The Lorien gave me the card and then didn't remove the charge. This prompted me to figure out what the actual rule is.

After speaking to InTouch representatives and a couple members of the hotel staff, it is apparently policy to NOT get the Raid the MiniBar credit if you are IC. Your personal preferences are supposed to take the place of this credit.

As long as I actually get my preferred amenities, this doesn't bother me at all. The problem comes at the properties that think a couple slices of fruit and a bottle of water is an acceptable IC amenity. Luckily for me this has only happened at a couple locations, but so far has not since the Lorien.

I have had the same experience at several Kimptons. However; when I did not receive my amenity and mentioned something at check out there was no issue with having the charge removed. At my last stay I mentioned something about wanting to have some water and somebody delivered 6 bottles the next day (I returned all of them since I was checking out but still thought that was nice). I think with Kimpton I'm finding that it is important to say something while you are on property; not after. And yes, it's disappointingwhen the amenity is not received that was requested but they do appear at most properties to want to make it right.

My understanding is that you can either receive IC amenities or keep the minibar credit but you can't do both

Staying at the Hotel Palomar PHL right now. First time with the dogs, first time for my husband at a Kimpton. Welcome amenity included water, two incredible chocolate iced chocolate chunk brownies, and dog biscuits and toys for the dogs. Empress Cobaka is threatening to stay here, as she feels she's finally receiving the attention she deserves. We walked in, and one of the employees at the front desk cooed over her for five minutes, which she loved!

We were upgraded to a one-bedroom suite that includes a jacuzzi tub.

I believe this is the stated policy, but some properties do both.
