Anybody else get this? Weird and confusing.
I got it too, which is strange because my status is good through end of 2013?!?!?!?

You may have seen an email from us this morning announcing that you were about to lose your Inner Circle status. Please rest assured; your status is safe and sound. This was the result of a technical error in our email segmentation. Regardless of the cause, there is no reason to ever inconvenience our most valued members. We are distraught that we caused you concern even for a moment.

[...]

Enjoy your Inner Circle status in the coming year and thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your loyalty to Kimpton.

Quick question... T&C on web page says that the Tuscan Inn (San Francisco) does not participate with InTouch. Is that correct that staying there would not count as an eligible visit?

The short answer to your question is yes....the hotel is managed by Kimpton but owned by someone else. It was explained to me by the Tuscan Inn front desk manager when I was walking in the area two months ago (I was staying at the Prescott). You may want to call the hotel for a more precise explanation. I also think that inner circle does not count at the Tuscan Inn location. On balance, I think that staying at a Kimpton owned property is a better deal. The Tuscan Inn itself looked good. I did not see any of the rooms but the lobby was a notch above what you usually find at a Best Western.

On another matter...

I also received the above referenced Inner Circle emails. I am not sure what my scheduled Inner Circle expiration date was. I assume that, since I got the second email, I am automatically renewed for another year?

Thanks

I believe you're Inner Circle for the current year until the end of the subsequent year, so in your case until Dec. 31 2013.

From website:

"Inner Circle Membership will be granted for the remainder of the calendar year in which elite-level status was earned as well as for the next calendar year."

I got the same message re: Inner Circle but then the "sorry" one so I'm assuming that I'm still Inner Circle for this coming year. I have to say one thing that impresses me about Kimpton is that they know how to sincerely apologize. I feel that they realize that most of us understand stuff happens. The difference is they say I'm sorry. It's a rarity in business these days; maybe that's why it makes an impression on me.

Received something in my email about a free night at one of their 6 new hotels, plus a $50 dining credit. Mr. Kipper and I had a night planned at one of them soon, but opted to arrive a night early thanks to that.

Just curious whether you have found any difference when making reservations through the InTouch phone line vs. the website?

I've done both and haven't found much, if any difference.

Sometimes the agents on the phone have found me packages that were far better than what I found online.

That's what I wondered. Thanks! Will try booking through an online agent next.

does anyone know how the complimentary nights @ new properties works? what are the terms and conditions? do they allow you for a free night @ all the properties marked under their 'NEW' section on the kimpton website? how do you book that stay?

You need to call the InTouch number, explain that you want to book your free night at whatever hotel. T&C's are that it does not earn you stay credit, you are responsible for any incidentals like parking and such, etc.

Kipper, thanks for your replay!

Do you have a link to T&Cs? Also, do you know if the properties that are new need to be opened only after the time you became InnerCircle or within the same year?

Thanks!
