Do you have a link to T&Cs? Also, do you know if the properties that are new need to be opened only after the time you became InnerCircle or within the same year?

Thanks!
Let me guess... You became aware of this perk via a blog, and are now looking for a status match, so you can use the perk?

I don't have a link to the T&C's. I believe they only need to be new this year.

Thank you for all the answers. Appreciated.

Good guess... almost I status matched with them some time ago, mainly for comp wifi. Now I am almost reaching the status anyway. I have found out about the perk here in this forum.

The comp wifi is available (as is the minibar credit) just for joining the loyalty program, no need to status match.

Recently requested a status match to Kimpton using HH Diamond and it was answered promptly. I was awarded Inner Circle membership until February 2014. Look forward to staying at more Kimpton properties soon. Had the chance to stay at the Hotel Palomar in PHX recently and really enjoyed it ^.

Loved my stay

Was awarded status match it in touch based on Hyatt diamond, stayed at topaz dc. Got quick status match response with request for food and beverage amenity. When I arrived, my room was upgraded to exercise room and it was a very large room with elliptical machine. A bottle of wine, nuts fruit plate was delivered as my amenity. I heard about the pet policy and as I had no pet asked for a loaner goldfish for fun. Great service, will stay again.

I just signed up for their program. Not sure why it took me this long but I am excited. It's great I can take my pets to their stylish hotels.

Not accurate... Hotel Monaco Philadelphia has been open since fall.

That page seems a bit old. La Jolla is open also, and two of the "new" properties were considered new in 2011 (IC members redeemed their free new property nights at them in 2012).

Maybe the other 6 are available for free nights by IC members?

I received an email on 1/20 giving me the 6 hotels where I can have a free night + $50 dining credit in 2013:
Canary Hotel, Santa Barbara CA
Donovan House, Washington DC
Hotel La Jolla, La Jolla CA
RiverPlace Hotel, Portland OR
Monaco Philadelphia, Philadelphia PA
Palomar Phoenix, Phoenix AZ

Yes. This is the current list of new properties available for free nights to IC members. That other link was out of date as the Surfcomber and the Palomar in San Diego offered free nights to IC members in 2012. I stayed at each. The Palomar SD is particularly nice - beautiful suite, good breakfast, attentive staff and good location.

Some wonderful responses by Mike Depatie, CEO of Kimpton, in a recent USA Today roundtable discussion of hotel loyalty programs.

I am a huge Kimpton fan, and always yearn for them when I travel to places like Las Vegas.

Loved his story about keeping guests happy and paying attention to what we all put in our profiles . . . some guy said he wanted "penguins." When he checked in, his room had a stuffed penguin toy on the bed and books about penguins on the desk.

My travels this year are going to have me in more Kimpton cities, so I status matched to IC. On my first two stays (Seattle & Dallas) everything was perfect. For my upcoming stay in LA (at the Hotel Wilshire), I received an email offering me the opportunity to reserve a paid upgrade (if available) at check-in.

Has anybody else seen this before? I'm assuming that it is an additional revenue mechanism that they have in place. However, I'm not sure why I would want to pay to possibly upgrade when IC status already affords me the chance to be upgraded. Am I missing something here? Thanks!

I received an email like that for one of my stays last year. I did not pay for an upgrade, and the only "upgrade" I received was that we were on the top floor, and needed to use our key to get to the rooms portion, as they had a restaurant up there too. The room was tiny, and by the time we left, I wished I'd paid for an upgrade.
