Thanks in advance, even if your advice is to leave my itinerary alone because making this type of change could be asking for trouble.

This would clearly be a re-route that would require a reissue, since you would be changing the "ticketed points" (assuming you currently have LHR-SYD booked as one coupon, one segment).

It is possible for airport agents to put you on a different flight, such as BA 11, without repricing your ticket, but it would need to be an involuntary change, such as if BA15 were late and you were in danger of a missconect.

If you don't mind paying the $125 USD reroute fee, you can make the change in advance. If you have not yet flown any of it, then the ticket would also need to be repriced at current fares.

Also FYI this is not called a married segment. This is just a direct flight that is not a non-stop flight. A Married Segment Control (MSC) is a practice used by some airlines that "marries" two or more flights with different flight numbers when the time between flights is less than 24 hours (i. e., there are only transits in between, no stopovers).

Hi, -- I wonder if someone would update me on some info, please. Does the AA RTW desk still require (even though the rules don't) that either TPAC or TATL be on AA metal in order for them to build the itinerary and issue the ticket? Do AA flight numbers suffice, or does it have to be AA metal? Thanks in advance!

KA in xONEx itinerary?

Hi all,

I have never booked or flown KA inside a xONEx ticket before.

I am in the middle of a DONE4 and would love to make some changes. One of those changes involves a KA flight (both metal and flt #). Is it allowed?

I was thinking of flying KA HKG-MLE, is MLE considered being within Asia by oneworld xONEx rules?

Thought I check here before I call up to make changes. Thanks.

Yes, KA is allowed, and, yes, MLE is in Asia.

Apologies if this has been covered, but am I allowed to transit the country of origin (without stopover) when ending in that continent? For example, my DONE3 originated in NRT – am I allowed to finish with ...-LHR-xNRT-SIN-HKG-NRT?

Looking at your ending itinerary, you can only have 1 stopover (either at SIN or at HKG, but no both). Note that you have 3 segments in Asia already.

Why only one stopover?

-LHR-xSIN-xHKG-NRT would be valid assuming no other stopovers in Asia at the beginning of the journey. (subject to maximum segment rules).

Need some help with minimizing taxes on a change to the itinerary I want to make. AA rate desk is not being very transparent.

My original DONE3 itinerary was: NRT-DFW-YVR-DFW-MBJ-DFW-JFK-LAX-DOH-MAD-LHR-HKG-NRT (italicized means no stopover)

The one I changed it to is: NRT-DFW-YVR-DFW-MBJ-DFW-JFK-LAX-DOH-MAD-DME-LHR-HEL-SIN-HKG-SIN-HND.

Rate desk came back with additional $334 in taxes/fees. I already figured out that I because I have no stopover in HEL, the APD luxury tax applies for the entire LHR-HEL-SIN distance, rather than just LHR-HEL. Of course, the RTW desk agent was clueless about this and kept claiming that the APD is a flat tax, regardless of the distance. Okay, I can make a stopover for a day in Helsinki, which should drop the APD by $180, so the remaining taxes are $154.

The other thing that the rate desk noted is "Russian taxes". Matrix ITA tells me that the taxes on DME-LHR segment are just $19. Am I missing something?

Also, the DFW-MBJ-DFW was originally $178 in taxes and after change to DFW-SEA-DFW should be just $46 saving me $132 to count against other taxes.

Anything else that stands out?

I think the rules dictates the 1 stopover (max) at the beginning & 1 on the return (also max). OP has 2 stop-overs.

-LHR-xSIN-xHKG-NRT is valid.
