Which flights and airlines are you booking as part of the DONE4 as opposed to the DONE3? Note the base pricing for the DONE3 on the pricing page (not including the taxes and carrier surcharges) and then get your DONE4 to the pricing page and see if the base pricing goes up dramatically. I would guess that most of the change is taxes/carrier surcharges on the DONE4.

Unfortunately I do need to go back to NA (and to my understanding this is allowed by the OWE rules).

manage to solve this
Your itinerary exceeds the 34,000 mile limit on a Business or First class booking. To finalise your itinerary, please reduce the length of your trip.

UserMark Im still interested in where you might be finding AA xonex fares ex-CAI. Do you have a travel agent that has access to these fares through another GDS? I called the AA rtw desk and they said they dont have any AA fares for Egypt xonex fares which corresponds with EF not showing these fares.
AA CAICAI.RW 10MAR24 MPM
V FARE BASIS BK FARE TRAVEL-TICKET AP MINMAX RTG
1 DONE3 DR 7306.00 ---- -/ -/12M RW01
2 DGLOB34 DR 7924.00 ---- -/ -/12M RW02
3 DONE4 DR 7924.00 ---- -/ -/12M RW03
4 DONE5 DR 8149.00 ---- -/ -/12M RW04
5 DONE6 DR 9273.00 ---- -/ -/12M RW05
I don't 100% understand how the pricing works, but what I've seen is that the fare and validating carrier don't have to be the same airline. In theory you can have AA issue a ticket using another airline's fare, but it sounds like they don't even want to issue their own fare. I just play around with it till I see something I like. For example I think if you have CAI-LHR-BOS.... where the LHR-BOS is the AA flight number, sabre will use AA's fare, but if it's the IB flight number it will use the IB fare.

ex-CAI DONE5 booked and paid for; awaiting ticket issuance.
So this morning (Australian time) I bit the bullet and purchased my annual RTW ticket.
Even though I am unsure if I will be able travel it (dealing with a medical issue)
But I figured cancelling will only cost me 5% of the very low base fare
Whereas missing out on the great fare would cost me much more.
I had been playing with various ex-CAI itineraries for a while, and prior to the EGP devaluation the all-in cost was coming to around AUD12,500
The all-in cost of my ticket is ~AUD8,400. So a saving of about AUD4,000
ETA
So now it's close of business in Australia, and no email from Qantas with the eTicket
BUT checking the booking on web sites of airlines in the ticket AA and MH show the itinerary is ticketed, complete with ticket number and all segments confirmed

Are you certain it's only 5% of the base fare and not the whole thing?

I've spoken to Qantas in Hobart. It's being pieced together manually. That's a very good fare, though. Very cheap taxes. Was it done using the tool? Would you like to share your routing?

No, the tool is doing my head in. Multiple errors like the 'over 34K' one and it will only offer me RJ via AMM when my first segment is CAI-DOH.
